Hotel Il Nido Sorrento

Very welcoming family run hotel. Very clean, sea views stunning. Food was fabulous as mentioned by many others. Very helpful and accommodating, highly recommend and if we return to Sorrento we will stay here. All the staff and owners were so friendly, details matter and they look after the details.

We had the most amazing stay at Il Nido at the end of April. I was initially concerned about staying out of town, up in the hills, but it was 100% the right choice. The view of the bay of Naples, over to Vesuvius, from our balcony enthralled us! Room was modern, spotlessly cleaned daily and even the mini bar was very reasonably priced. Every member of staff we encountered welcomed us, were willing to put up with our attempts at Italian (even though they spoke excellent English). We ate in the hotel restaurant on the first night, whilst watching the sunset. Food was simply a necessity, but they made an effort to make us feel like VIPs. The free shuttle bus/coach service worked out brilliantly, once you nailed the timetable and drop off pick up point. The drivers were friendly and it became a fun part of our days adventures. Was sad to leave (at sunrise), but with thanks to Dino for the lift, we made it to our airport bus. Grazie mille Il Nido

I've lost count as to how many times I have stayed at il Nido. Brothers Dino and Gianni always make me feel welcome, comfortable. And they take time to just sit and talk. This time I brought 5 friends. All of them said the same thing: il Nido was their favorite place. This is the 5th time I've brought friends along and the 5th time they have been so complimentary of il Nido. The rooms are comfortable, the breakfast is amazing, the dinners (and now lunch too) are my favorites in Sorrento.

This is a nice family hotel situated high up on the cliff with beautiful views, great accommodations. Dino and his wonderful staff will make sure you are having a pleasant stay, and will take the time to talk/visit with you. Their shuttle service to downtown Sorrento is a plus. Their breakfast every morning was a wonderful variety, with great pastries, and the best fresh orange juice i have ever had. And their dinner menu did not disappoint either. While eating at the dining area, you have a beautiful view of the bay, different towns, and Mt Vesuvius. If I ever go back to Sorrento, we would definitely stay there again.

Thank you so much to the other reviewers and forum posters who steered me to this hotel. We stayed there for 3 wonderful nights last week First, the location can't be beat. It was very easy to take the free shuttle into Sorrento for a casual day exploring or the large selection of available excursions (to Capri, Amalfi, Pompeii, Naples). The hotel is perched on a hill among orange and lemon groves overlooking Sorrento so the view is unbelievable. I woke up on the first morning and didn't even have to get out of bed to see the sunrise behind Mount Vesuvius. The only thing in the way was my feet. Second, the facility itself was great. The rooms and common areas were welcoming, clean, and updated. We had two adults and two teenagers traveling so our lodging search at our stops in Italy was a challenge. At most hotels, that meant two very expensive rooms or one insanely expensive suite. The quad room here was perfect for our needs. The room itself was also by far the nicest of the 4 places we stayed in Italy (Florence, Rome, and Milan at similar price points). Last but definitely not least, the lovely family that runs this hotel clearly cares about delivering the best experience for guests, from the condition of the rooms and common areas, to the great food they serve in their restaurant, and their willingness to go out of their way to help guests. We had an excursion departure that was scheduled too early for their scheduled shuttles or public transport. So we asked at the front desk about alternatives. They could have just called us one of Sorrento's notoriously expensive taxis, but they offered to drive us down themselves instead. I can't say enough about this place. If I have the chance to travel to this area again, you would have to pay me not to stay here.

Amazing stay at Il NIDO,very well run by a lovely family and staff, perfect location to explore the Amalfi coast, hope to go back soon. Great view from the bedrooms, of the Vesuvio and the coast. The hotel is very clean and a great selection of local food at breakfast.

Sea view balcony room gives you a postcard image every time you look out. Hotel is run by two brothers and sister who couldn’t be more helpful. Park your car and take the free shuttle to town. The breakfast is great. The dinners are also very good and you enjoy a great view from the dining room. Very spacious walk-in shower.
