Catalina's Hideaway

Catalina's Hideaway is an absolute must for anyone travelling to Panama. This property is incredible. Starting with our casita, it had everything we needed and more. We enjoyed a super comfy king bed, hot shower and had our own mini oasis of a balcony that had a hammock, tea/coffee station and a relaxing view of the of the pond. We spent a ton of time in their gorgeous pool and in the surrounding cabanas plus they offered paddle boards and convenient shuttles to town for surfing and further exploration. The food at the restaurant is some of the best eats we had in all of Panama - kudos to the incredible chef. Lastly, the staff is incredibly kind and eager to provide helpful guidance and recommendations. I couldn't recommend this place any more.

Staying at the hideway in Santa Catalina felt like being welcomed into a family. Antheas and Ryan are two incredible people who are sharing their dream, and you can feel that passion in every corner of the place. The food was absolutely incredible – the chef is truly talented, and the staff are the sweetest! The vibe here is unlike anything else. From the amazing music that plays all the time to the small, beautiful details in every room, you feel the love and care that went into creating this space. The beds were so comfortable, and the rooms were perfect – every detail thoughtfully designed. Whether you're bringing your kids, your partner, or your friends, Hideway is for everyone. We didn't want to leave, and we can't wait to return. It's truly a slice of paradise!

Absolutely beautiful spot! Accommodation was first class! The bedding, outdoor shower, salt water pool, food, cocktails, scenery, such beautiful flowers everywhere! Five star! Staff went above and beyond! We were totally pampered! I can’t wait to go back!

Staying at Catalina's Hideaway was a delight! The staff and owners were exceptionally friendly, making us feel at home. Ryan even recommended his favourite local cocktail which was a huge hit. The food and drinks were top-notch, so was the surf and snorkeling :) Plus the room was newly built with every detail thoughtfully considered. A perfect retreat with excellent service and amenities. The local coffee was a huge bonus.

I was in the Arbolita, which is an adorable ground level cabin with a wonderful private balcony for relaxing in the hammock and enjoying nature. Relaxing in the hammock during a rain shower was magical. Ceiling fans and AC made the room very comfortable and In- room coffee and fridge was appreciated. The property is well maintained and beautifully landscaped! A morning walk on the private beach is awesome, as is enjoying the restaurant to the sounds of the ocean. Meals, drinks and service were good. One woman in particular kindly assisted with my SIM card and made great recommendations for my next stop. Paid shuttle to town upon request. I had no spiders or mosquitos in the room which is very well screened. There is, however, a known issue with small bugs that seem to magically appear and inundate the rooms for a few hours at night, but they are harmless and easily shake off the pillows and sheets. Note that the final road going in is quite bumpy and they will meet your shuttle if the driver won't make the trip. The website for this place is brilliant. This is a beautiful place that is probably even better during high season.

Catalina's Hideaway was an unreal experience! Beautiful location, delicious food and drinks, great accommodations, and amazing hosts! Very friendly and cool vibe. Excellent fishing, snorkelling, and surfing opportunities. The real deal in Panama... we can't stop talking about it! Can't wait to go back!
