We thought we would post our itinerary to show how you can enjoy a couple of nights at Postmaster Inn B&B on a tour of North-West Tasmania. Day 1: Launceston -> Smithton with options to visit Christmas Hills Berry Farm, Van Diemen’s Ice Cream, Ashgrove Cheese, Anvers Chocolate, Blue Hills Honey along the way before entering into the accommodation in Smithton. Smithton is the gateway to the Tarkine. We chose to stay at Postmaster Inn B&B. Postmaster Inn is very clean and comfortable. We slept very well here. The hosts, Ingrid and Jo, are very hospitable and amazing cooks. They look after you in great detail. We recommend having their in-house meals and breakfast. If you would like to have Crayfish, remember to order at least 24 hours in advance. Seafood is fresh and local. Veggies come from their homegrown garden. We loved all dishes we had: scallop entree with ribboned fresh cucumber and pine nut dressing, panko crumbed Tasmanian fish and creamy Tarkine fresh oysters. Day 2: Smithton -> Tarkine Drive, rainforest section. We ordered a pre-packed lunch from Postmaster Inn to have at Julius River BBQ area. It needs around three quarters of a day to complete the rainforest walks and visit all lookout spots (no.12-22 on map). Day 3: Smithton -> Tarkine Drive, coastal section with option to take the Tarkine Fresh Oyster farm tour at Smithton. The tour must be booked a couple of weeks in advance. The coastal drive had wilderness views on one side and coastline views on another side. (No.1-8 on map). Then we drove to our accommodation in Wilmot, the base for our Cradle Mountain hiking. Day 4: Cradle mountain summit walk. Overnight in Wilmot. Day5: Half-day short walk at Cradle mountain. Then return to Launceston.
