We stayed two nights in this hotel From the moment we arrived it was a shambles We didn’t enjoy driving our car to find the hotel, unless you have a bambino you will struggle to get your car down the alleyways Nothing on the website about valet parking (must be reserved in advance too) and when I ran down the street on our arrival to the hotel entrance in the alley I was told abruptly but reception there is a self service 1.5km down the road Off you go, taxis are no existent in ghettos area so we dragged our bags back to hotel from the car parking 18 mins walk in the sun exactly what I would do for 350€ a night The room configuration as others say sounds so grand and designer modern However having a cafe chair to sit on instead of a sofa downstairs and then always going up to the bed not ideal Navigating the toilet at night is a hazard and you will wake your partner unless you are a mouse As for noise that others mention, we had the top floor suite but also had the rattle of the common area aircon on our wall next tot he bed similar to a pool pump running I guess white noise is good for sleep The aircon works yes but the bed is in the attic and cold air falls so I would say just cool, we had to remove the blanket and sleep with just a sheet Now we get to the service level at this 5 star Staff on entry and exit seem to feel obligated to say Buingiorno while judging and frowning as you come and go, maybe as we aren’t Italian we had a terrace so nice to have a drink though in no way private as looks directly at that neighbouring building and their noisy aircon My husband asked for a wine bottle opener and the staff went to the kitchen (of the 1 Michelin star restaurant ) and came back with a beer bottle opener, that’s all I can offer you So your saying all those wines are opened with some other implement in your Michelin restaurant, of course Italian answer “this is all I can offer you” Th positives The bed is comfortable and the beach is 5 minutes walk

We are so greatful to all the hotel's staff.A big thank you for the warm hospitality! We were welocemed so warmly with a smile and polite attitude,so we decided later after a few days to come back and stay agin in the hotel. The bed was the most comfortable bed I have ever slept on.The silence was amasing,no noise at all-I had good deep sleep. Absolutly luxury soft touch bed sheets and hight quality towels and toiletery accsesories. In the room we had very strong AC with touch screen, which was very fast working, because the weather in Ortigia is very hot and you really need a good AC.I felt this place in a very special way.I didn't want to leave. What I can say more, the brekfast was with great variety of options,I especially enjoyed the almond granita with warm brioche. The espresso was very good too. My partner had really good omlette with ham and cheese and platter with variety of salami and cheeses. On the other day we had fresh fruits and warm and fresh delicious mini croisants. The waiter was very polite and proffesional. He looked neat and very well groomed. Everyone speaks excellent English and are so helpful.Overall everithing in the hotel is high quality with great attitude to the guests.Very special place, where we deffinatly will come back again and we need to try the dinner options.Thank you for your warm hospitality!

My wife and I booked a lovely room, Room 110. It was a junior suite, and had a nice downstairs with a small eating area and a sofa. And the room had two air conditioners, one for the top and one for the bottom. Unfortunately, the band that performs in the restaurant was performing on the other side of the wall — and it was quite loud with the drums and saxophone and piano. We could not possibly sleep. We went to the desk and asked a receptionist for help. She was very nice and gave us a different room, room 102. This was a significant reduction from room 110 — very small seating area, no downstairs air conditioning, so it was too hot to sit there. It was nowhere near the quality of room 110. We managed to sleep, but we decided that this was not adequate for us, and so we decided to leave. We had breakfast first. A very nice person gave us coffee and pastries. She offered nothing else, and so we had nothing else for breakfast. She never offered anything! So we packed up and decided to check out. We thus had a miserable stay, but we were sure that the hotel would fix the problem, and offer us the rate for the room we ended up in (102) and not the rate for the room we booked (the much nicer and bigger 110). At the least! Our discomfort was such that we actually expected the manager(who was very nice) to offer to simply void the room and not charge us at all. That would have been the courteous thing to do. After contact with the owner, he was able to offer a voucher for the next night of 50 euros. We tried to have a conversation with the hotel, but they treated us disrespectfully and were very defensive. They refused to even acknowledge even that the rooms were different! Subsequent attempts to conversation were not returned. I very much wanted this to be a good experience. I have never written a negative review. Ever. But I'd recommend staying elsewhere. And if you do stay there, don't stay in the otherwise lovely room 110 when the band is playing!

The hotel is well located, modern, and clean, with comfortable beds. However, for a property that aspires to be a luxury hotel, it falls short. My daughter and I stayed in two rooms for three nights, during which we complained on several occasions about the lack of hot water in the showers, and about the steam in the shower in one room which simply did not work. Nobody did anything to fix these things, nor did they offer an apology. In addition, as noted in another review, the walls do not keep out sound. My daughter complained about hearing conversations in the hall which kept her awake at night. It appears that the hotel is still under construction, but perhaps that is part of the boutique style. We saw very few people staying there during our three days and many staff just hanging around. All in all, at these prices I don't think it is too much to ask to be able to take a hot shower and get a good night's sleep. Travelers with mobility problems should make certain that they are not placed in a duplex. In our rooms it was necessary to climb stairs to reach the bedrooom.

I did not enjoy this stay. Valet service was not great, neither was front reception. The stairwell, a huge feature in the middle of the hotel, is made of metal, making the entire property extremely hot. The room was a awkward configuration also.

This place is magnificent. We stayed in the windowless suite which was stunning - the bedroom on a mezzanine and a large living area and shower room downstairs. It was quiet and cool and the perfect place to switch off after a day's exploration of beautiful Ortigia. It is right at the tip of the tiny island - a few mins to the main square and via Roma but also very close to the beautiful Lungo Mare road which is the best spot to watch the sunrise and a minute or two to the other side where you can watch the sun go down with a Campari Spritz at one of the sunset bars. Really the perfect location! Admittedly we were a little disappointed at the lack of windows initially but this soon wore off as the plus points of this stand alone suite outshone any negatives. The building is ancient and sleeping under the arched ceiling on an incredibly comfortable bed was completely relaxing. The team are just so lovely. We stayed for four nights and were very well looked after. The breakfast was beautiful. They have a highly skilled pastry chef who really goes to town with pastries, little cakes, tiny chocolate fondants and a really good selection of gluten free things - I even got an apricot croissant each morning. Freshly squeezed juice from the sweetest Sicilian oranges, posh yoghurts... there was a menu for cooked things but we couldn't possibly have squeezed anything else in. (Plus needed to save space for all of the other delights to be found in Ortigia!). On one morning I didn't make it to breakfast so they brought the whole thing to our room. The charming service was impeccable and a special shout out to Christina who was understandably so proud of everything. We asked for a couple of champagne cocktails one night and after a few moments the most delicious drinks arrived, served with hot nibbles. I wish I could remember the name of the man who served us (he was also the one who brought my breakfast to our room). He was so kind and made us feel so welcome and spoilt! The whole thing was flawless and we were reluctant to leave. Wouldn't hesitate in recommending. Can't wait to return. Also - you absolutely must eat in the restaurant. Best food and service we have ever experienced. We ate on the last night but wish we had eaten on the first so we could have done the whole thing twice (at least). It was better than the Alain Ducasse and Per Se meals that had previously been our personal top-rated!

We took their house best suite and to our surprise it had no windows. Yes, no windows. My wife opened the curtains and found a wall no windows. They moved us to another room and again had issues with this duplex. Extremely small. Bathroom and remarkably small sitting area. The bed was up the metal winding stairs. If’s have to go to the bathroom u r walking down what we considered dangerous stair case. We were moved again to a small standard room. Though the cost sheet stated 97 euros we paid and average 160 euros plus charges we don’t recognize. Attempted to ask for a reasonable price for standard room. they said this was the best cost and they refused to match their price guarantee. Told me I requested price late and paid a penalty for booking the rooms so close to check in. Under no circumstances should you believe their descriptions of the rooms. They said for instance no windows for 220 euro was a limited view. Yes, it was limited unless u r Superman and can see thru walls. Only good offering here was the breakfast that they overcharged us for 20 euro per person per day.
