Tive uma experiência maravilhosa neste hotel! A localização é ótima, o café da manhã era muito farto, tudo muito gostoso e a vista é simplesmente sensacional. O quarto era bem aconchegante e sempre tinha um mimo quando voltávamos dos passeios. Mas tenho que dar ênfase mesmo é para o staff, que foi encantador. Todos os funcionários do hotel, principalmente os do café da manhã, foram muito simpáticos comigo e com a minha família. Ficamos muito impressionados com tanta gentileza. Uma moça tentou conversar um pouco em português com a gente e um outro atendente até bateu um papo em alemão comigo. Foram encantadores. Recomendo demais essa experiência. Ah, e o cannoli foi simplesmente o melhor que comi em toda a itália.

We spent 10 days in Sicily and decided to book 4 days at The Grand Hotel Ortigia over Christmas. It was a great decision. Ortigia takes Christmas seriously with great street and shop decorations and most of the restaurants are still open throughout the holiday. In the hotel we had a room with a sea view, and if you can afford the upgrade it’s really worth it, watching the activity in the harbour and on the sea front is fascinating. The Grand offered a seriously good Christmas lunch served by a great team of staff in the rooftop restaurant - excellent fish courses, with wines, with an unhurried service. Just brilliant. If a Christmas trip to Sicily is in your plans I can’t recommend The Grand highly enough.

The Grand Hotel Ortigia is an elegant and yes, grand hotel on the harbor in Ortigia. After some initial confusion with the front desk about the type of room we'd reserved, my spouse and I settled in to a deluxe room that was spacious and well designed with hooks for jackets, ample space for suitcases, and lots of room to put things. The staff were friendly and helpful, especially Fortunato. The housekeepers deserve special mention for twice daily trips into the room to keep it immaculate. Breakfast was a feast of delights on the top floor overlooking the harbor. The location is excellent for exploring both Ortigia and crossing the bridge into Siracusa. The Grand Hotel has spoiled us for future stays in hotels!

We have been in a beautiful hotel with an excelent location. The terrace where the breakfast was served has a fantastic view over the sea. The rooms have stairs to the bed and bathroom. The staff is gentle and nice with very good restaurants recommendations.

Front of house staff were outstanding especially Emmanuel and fortunato excellent. Breakfast very good. Staff in the restaurant were great. Drinks in the top floor bar were great with views. Room was great. Internet only fair. Room temperature difficult to control.

This is a very nice hotel in a great location in Ortigia. The service was excellent and the breakfast was very good. However, it is certainly not 5-star. We had a deluxe double room and it was quite small for a "deluxe double". We did get to see into a standard room and that was extremely small with not much room around the bed. Also, the noise levels are very high. The street sweeper came round at around 5am every morning which woke us up every night. The interior noise levels are also very high, both from the corridor and adjoining rooms. There is also a set of service stairs at the back of the hotel which double as emergency stairs - these have wooden treads and a certain lady member of staff had very solid shoes and woke us up every morning not long after getting back to sleep after the street sweeper had woken us. We recommend getting a room that is not on the street and not near the service stairs.
