Hotéis perto de Koh Rong, Sihanoukville

Had many issues with my stay at this hotel earlier this month. 1. Had clothes cleaned by hotel and they all were shrunk. Shirts, jeans, tops etc 2. Sometimes room was not cleaned until late afternoon. 3. Breakfast was a buffet and they were constantly running out of food so had to wait for it to be cooked. The staff were not proactive when food was getting low. Had a jug of juice labelled orange juice. When I drank a glass quickly I found out it was pineapple which I am allergic to. I told the staff and was told they had run out of orange juice and had pineapple juice instead. They did not care that it was the wrong label. 4. There was no water on several occasions. Very frustrating when I was in the shower and had lathered up with soap so I had to rinse with bottled water. 5. There is construction of a new hotel next door so when trying to relax by the pool there was banging and drilling. I understand it is not the fault of Sea Star resort but still annoying. 6. My room was 26 stairs and no elevator. I had to go through an abandoned area which looked like an old reception (see pic) which smelt of urine. There was even old mattresses stored in the hall way at the top of the stairs which likely contributed to the awful small. In the end I decided to check out a day early even though I had paid in full in advance. At $100 a night it is definitely not worth the money. Every night I went for dinner at a much nicer resort only 5 minutes walk away called Beach Walk. I highly recommend staying there.

O hotel é um hotel super moderno e novo. Uma bela localização com uma bela praia, tudo perfeitamente construída. O quarto está muito bem equipado, com a mais moderna tecnologia. Há mais algumas coisas para melhorar. Uma vez, o quarto não estava limpo e outra vez esqueceram-se de toalhas, uma vez grandes, minha pequena... Sempre teve que lembrar.  Quando chegamos, pedimos se podíamos ter um bungalow num andar mais profundo, e nunca conseguimos uma resposta, e depois tínhamos um pequeno aumento de montanha e estava tudo bem. Mas eu gostaria de ter outra informação. A comunicação sempre correu através do WhatsApp e foi sempre respondido imediatamente a tudo.  O pequeno-almoço foi muito bom, mas depois de uma semana, sempre foi o mesmo. No início, havia apenas uma placa de fruta e ela sempre foi relativamente rapidamente vazia e também lá teve que perguntar várias vezes, no dia seguinte, eles sempre tinham duas placas e isso foi então bom. São tudo pequenos, o serviço foi muito amigável e atento Na piscina estavam sempre toalhas nas camas e eu gostaria que fosse possível arranjar uma toalha nova, mas não havia nenhuma. Há muitos restaurantes vizinhos na praia onde você pode comer em outro lugar todas as noites.

We absolutely loved our stay. The staff were super friendly and helpful throughout our time at the resort. Our room was clean, quiet and very closely located to the beach. The food was good, the drinks were great and reasonably priced - happy hour daily 2pm-4pm is a great bonus too. Our room was turned down daily and the air con was excellent. The gym had some good facilities however, the air con is never on a the door is left open so take plenty of water and be prepared to SWEAT! The beach was the highlight, plenty of sun loungers for everyone, beautiful crystal clear waters and the sands were regularly cleared of rubbish washed up. There’s lots of palm trees and cashew nut trees to seek shelter under and plenty of cute stray dogs around to entertain you. The resort itself is a great location, near to lots of restaurants, shop, laundry service and a short walk down the beach to more bars with a more party vibe that’s great for a short time before heading back to the zen of the resort. We really enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend.

No TV. Toilet has a seat cover that is smaller than the toilet opening. Kitchen staff ignored my excuse me and pretended they didn't hear me. Manager is excellent.

Chambre double standard très grande, lumineuse et propre. Dommage qu’il n’y ait pas de brise-vue aux nombreuses fenêtres (donc rideaux opaques souvent fermés nous concernant) et pas de TV ni de frigo. Literie trop ferme avec un seul oreiller par personne. Salle de bain spacieuse, WC avec douchette mais souci avec la douche (sélecteur inversé et l’évacuation qui se bouchait sans enlever le cache). Climatisation fonctionnelle et chambre globalement calme. Personnel souriant. Location de scooter pratique directement sur place (10$/jour sans aucune caution) et navette gratuite en journée. Réception joignable via WhatsApp/Telegram, mais réactivité à améliorer. Wi-Fi utile car très peu de réseau. Ménage sur demande. Emplacement bien situé niveau tranquillité : Coconut Beach accessible à pied, Long Set Beach (plus animée) à 10 min en scooter et 15 min environ pour Kaoh Touch Beach. Accès un peu rocailleux mais faisable. En résumé séjour agréable dans un cadre calme, avec quelques points à améliorer côté confort et communication.

What I liked: The excellent, comfortable bed and pillows, pristine white linens and towels. The hotel staff contacted me in advance and helped me book ferry tickets and a car from the pier to the hotel. The hotel restaurant served quite delicious dishes. Breakfast was also very good, despite the limited selection. You can use paddleboards for free at the beach. Snorkeling from the shore was also decent; we saw two cuttlefish. The beach is a dream, with one small caveat. There were always enough sun loungers. What I disliked: The beach was littered with plastic remnants from the sandbags used to reinforce the shoreline. One evening, we ordered a bottle of Prosecco at sunset. The waiter opened it and threw the foil directly onto the sand, shocking us with such disregard for this beautiful place. Another morning, guests at the neighboring table on the beach had Coke brought to them. By lunchtime, no one had come to clear the glasses and cans. By sunset, the same cans were still lying on the sand; the glass cups, however, seemed to have been collected. There were also many disappointments with the room: everything was shoddily done, built in a hurry, the furniture was stained with paint, the rug and hat in the room were torn, and in the huge shower, there wasn't a single hook or towel holder. There's also no shower curtain, so the toilet was always wet. Half of the light switches didn't work, and the switches by the bed were swapped. When you leave the room and take the key card, the light above the entrance also turns off, making it quite an adventure to return in the dark and climb the stairs. There's a refrigerator, but it didn't work, and this was the case in two different rooms. At the entrance to the bungalow and the restaurant, there are hoses to wash sand off your feet, but none of them worked. My husband took one apart and cleaned it, and then it worked. Conclusion: With proper management and care, this place could turn into paradise. Things to be prepared for: In the evenings, there are many mosquitoes or gnats on the beach; they bite hard and itch for a long time. Repellents are essential. Within walking distance, there's only the neighboring cafe and nothing else. This could be both an advantage and a disadvantage for some.

Pros: - the most beautiful beach I've seen in my life. White sand as thin as flour. Transparent water. Fish swimming around, seashells, crabs... - kids love it. There's almost no waves. You can walk 50m into the sea and the water just reaches your waist. Great for little kid. Our 1.5 y.o. kid loved playing in the water. - the restaurant of the hotel serves fusion food. Delicious and not pricey. The neighboring hotel Your and Me has a restaurant that makes more traditional khmer food that is also delicious. - the room is spacious, bright, with an incredible view. Anyway, you will spend the whole day outside. - for 100$ you can take a boat and do fishing, snorkeling, touring the island. - the hotel has free kayaks, paddles. Can improve: - the staff is very laid back. They are very nice but at the restaurant for instance, better go to the bar to order I saw people do that rather than waiting for someone to service you. Everyone seems ok with that. Cons: - the shower is outdoor. So washing outside trying to avoid mosquitoes is not great. One night we had a visitor, a huge spider fell on my wife while she was giving bath to our kid, it was the size of my hand. Not a great experience. But we'll this is nature. Can't fault the hotel. - we staid at a double room the night before. And the only difference was just a few intelligent change in furniture : trash in with a lid, glass door in the restroom so natural light comes in, a bathtub that was not really useful. For these small changes the price difference is huge. Important Note: I learnt unfortunately that the island is infested with sand fleas. All the hotels are facing this issue. A bite is not dangerous but bothersome if you're allergic which was my case. My wife and two kids had no issue. But I was bitten on my back because there was some sand on my bedsheet and the sand fleas had a feast at night. My back itched crazy for one week. The bad thing is it seems hotels have no pharmacy. So be prepared and bring your own topical cream or cortisone cream, and antihistamine just in case. It seems I was the only one in the hotel to have this issue but googling it I found a few bloggers describing having this issue. Note 2: there's a ferry that can bring you directly from Sihanoukville to the hotel's beach, one per day. We took the GTVC to LongSet Beach Pier, then had a taxi, 5$ per person. We did that. It was a smooth ride. The taxi was a great experience

Tivemos o azar de viajar durante a baixa temporada, o que em Koh Rong significa 99% de chuva todos os dias. Conversando com os moradores locais, eles sabem muito bem disso, mas todas as reservas e atividades continuam como de costume, mas não podem ser aproveitadas, como mergulho com snorkel, churrasco de barco, etc. Por causa do clima, ficamos presos no hotel 90% do tempo. NÃO há TV (está escrito nas comodidades do quarto, li tarde demais), então fique atento, principalmente se estiver viajando com crianças pequenas. A piscina não é uma opção por causa de trovões e relâmpagos. Custa 15 dólares para chegar ao hotel a partir do píer. Não há caixa eletrônico na ilha, apenas uma barraca que permite que você use seu cartão para pagar o local, então eles lhe dão o dinheiro, que é cobrado a 8% 😡 Isso é importante porque, por falta de conexão com a internet, você nem sempre pode usar o cartão para pagar no restaurante seus almoços e jantares; também, quando possível, há uma taxa de 3% para isso. Todas as atividades também devem ser pagas em dólares americanos (USD), mas notas antigas e irregulares não são aceitas, mesmo que tenham sido entregues por outros comerciantes na ilha ou que tenham ficado um pouco molhadas na chuva, o que era um problema frequente. Portanto, venha com bastante dinheiro ou você ficará com poucas opções. Na noite anterior ao check-out, pedimos à equipe que, por favor, avisasse a empresa de balsas que pegaríamos a balsa das 9h30 para Sihakouville (conforme as instruções da empresa). Reservamos um retorno às 9h para o píer, conforme recomendado. No entanto, quando chegamos, a balsa estava partindo às 9h15. Não fomos os únicos que ficaram para trás. Algumas pessoas tinham um voo para pegar mais tarde naquele dia e foram obrigadas a pagar outros 17 dólares americanos por pessoa, pois, segundo eles, era ”impossível” encaixá-las em um dos barcos quase vazios de uma das muitas outras empresas de balsas, já que elas não trabalham juntas. Algumas famílias pagaram até 70 dólares americanos para não perder o voo, apesar de não terem culpa. O hotel era padrão, para um hotel de praia, com cabanas agradáveis, as camas eram limpas e confortáveis, e o destaque foi, sem dúvida, a comida do restaurante. Ao longo dos 4 dias, experimentamos muitos pratos, todos deliciosos. Imagino que, durante a temporada de sol, deve ser um lugar lindo e um hotel lindo. Dito isso, eu já achava caro para a baixa temporada, em comparação com hotéis semelhantes na Tailândia e em Bali, então, para mim, o preço que se pagaria na alta temporada não seria considerado, especialmente considerando toda a experiência com a balsa e os dólares americanos. ☹️

Um BOM lugar para passar alguns dias com UMA visão deslumbrante, MAS se preparar para subir as escadas, não é adequado para pessoas com deficiência de caminhar. A vista no telhado é tão boa, e há UMA mesa de piscina gratuita e um bar para bebidas. A sala estava Muito bonita e dormia bem, MAS não havia toalhas de cabeça, secador de cabelo e caixa de segurança.

Viajei com meu irmão mais novo e fiquei satisfeito. O quarto era bem pequeno, mas estava decorado de forma charmosa e todos os itens eram ecológicos, o que foi ótimo. Nos deram um quarto interno, então nossos pés ficaram cobertos de areia na ida e na volta, mas havia um balde d'água na entrada para lavarmos os pés, então não foi ruim. Estava limpo, a comida estava deliciosa e a piscina era ótima! No entanto, o teto do banheiro é aberto, então você pode ser atacado por mosquitos... ^^ Só tenha isso em mente.
