If I had to give any stars to this place, it would be 1 star for the staff’s effort to make this stay as pleasant as possible. It could be Covid reasons or monsoon reasons but the infrastructure of this place is truly at bare minimum and by that I mean four cement walls and some furniture for you to sleep on. Cleanliness is questionable, sheets were stained and the open bathroom concept means you gotta feel comfortable peeing with lizards, mosquitoes and spiders hanging all around you. The pool was dirty from the rain water so not usable when I was there but I suspect it’s much nicer on a sunny day. Because they get their supply from mainland, there was barely choices for food (they ran out of tofu). For this amount of money you’re better off spending it at one of the more commercial beaches like Phuket, Bali, El Nido, even Langkawi. Yes the water is really clean here and the beach is untouched; but a beach is a beach and there are definitely more beautiful places than here, especially for THIS price. They charged for everything, and did not offer any complimentary services for my uncomfortable stay. I booked for three nights but checked out after two, forfeiting the one night already paid to them. Sorry, not worth the money coming here. The transport (buvaSea) was also a nightmare btw… takes almost two hours from Sihanoukville to Koh Rong because they make multiple stops and punctuality isn’t really a concept that exists there. If you’re truly curious about the place, just bring your own camping gear. This island’s infrastructure just isn’t there yet. It’s for people who want to be one with nature. Unfortunately that’s not my travel style or how I define relaxing.
