We were visiting from Australia and were looking for unique , eco friendly styled luxury accommodation, which we found in this tree top setting. The setting in the forest and tree top bungalows at the foot of the Pindurangala rock is the ideal location to explore this region, including the Sigiriya lion rock. The staff and food were beyond excellent. The tree top bungalows were superb and it was an overall enjoyable and trip defining experience. We very highly recommend Back of Beyond Jungle Hideaway for those that appreciate being amongst nature, with all the comforts.

Very friendly helpful staff and good food. Very large tree house with mossie net around the bed. We expected lots of mossies being so close to jungle but we didn’t actually see any. Lots of space in tree house with a sitting area in the tree house and below. Plenty of lighting and electric points and a stand up fan. Half open bathroom with plentiful hot water in shower. Very accommodating with giving us a picnic breakfast for an early start to climb Sigyria rock which is about 10 min drive away.

Sleeping in a treehouse should be on everyone’s bucketlist! It was such a unique and fun experience. It is also very close to Pidurangala rock so you can just walk there and start the hike, enjoying and incredible view from the top facing Lion’s Rock. The staff is very kind and helpful and they serve some of the best traditional sri lankan food. A stay here during your trip in Sri Lanka is a must!

One of the coolest experiences of my life! Sleeping in a treehouse in such close contact with nature was incredible. I loved the style and concept and the staff and food there made it even better. It is also very close to Pidurangala Rock, so very comfortable to just walk there and hike up. This place should totally be on your list when visiting Sri Lanka.

Wasn't my first time staying at Back of Beyond in the jungles of Sigiriya. Had an amazing time. Vajira and Naathan did an amazing job in ensuring our stay was fantastic. The treehouse was clean, well appointed and comfortable. Definitely the highlight was walking up to the sounds of the jungle wild life in particular the birds. Will definitely be back for a longer stay.

We went on the loris night time walk. They gave us an informative presentation about the lotus first. We then walked for around an hour and 15 min through the jungle with two guides and saw around 5 lorises. We really enjoyed this experience. Thank you.

People are very friendly and accommodating. The place is unique, it’s the first time staying in a place like that. Food was great. We really enjoyed our stay.

Shani and other members of his staff were the perfect hosts. I cannot recommend staying here enough! They were a picture of gracious hospitality, offering many recommendations, rides, and other local experiences. We did not think we would want to try any of the offered experiences before arriving, but after talking about the slender loris’, Shani overheard and offered us a trip that evening to go see them if we were interested. When he is not working at this location Shani has another job promoting conservation efforts within the community to save the adorable little primates and in so doing has gained an extensive knowledge of their habitats and behavior. While walking around in the immediate jungle we saw 4 slender loris and our guides’ excitement was extremely contagious, even though they had seen 8 the night before! Food was the best we’ve had in Sri Lanka before or since and the treehouse was even more magical than the photos could possibly show. Easy walking to rock sites!
