We recently booked a room for the evening of July 10th, at the “las Aguas del Arbuniel, con Pista del Padel in Arbuniel, Spain. The pictures looked lovely, a swimming pool, great restaurant, cozy accommodation. A perfect spot to stop between Jerez and our permanent home on the Orihuela Costa. Unfortunately the stay was a disaster. It was a dreadful situation, that could have been dangerous. It was also a case of severe misrepresentation. First the hotel was not really open for guests. There was one young woman there, who took our money, but was not able to help us with the luggage. Having recently surgery we could not manage the luggage ourselves. There was no elevator and she was not able to help. We ended up in a disabled room, once it had been cleaned. But had to wait for a cleaner to come from the village to clean. There was absolutely no one there except this young woman. Secondly, the hotel restaurant was closed and completely inoperative. This was much to our astonishment as the photos had looked lovely. There was no service of any kind. ( the only place to eat was in the village, a necessary 5-10 minute drive away.) There wasn’t even water. We were shown the fridge, where it held only a bag of ice. Third, The pool was covered in leaves, and not particularly clean. The gardens and pathways to the pool and around the property were overgrown and unkempt. One literally had to crawl through the bushes to get to the pool which was unusable. Distressing as it was extremely hot. (high 30’s or 40’s. (This happened on July 10th) Fourth, we were left on our own, in in a place with no service, other guests or staff. Very dangerous if an emergency arose and we needed help. We were given the keys to lock the door ourselves. NOTE: This was not billed as a house… but hotel.. Fifth, we were expected to use the fusebox if we wanted electricity in any of the common rooms. Totally ridiculous to expect guests to go into electrical cupboards to turn on the power. This was extremely dangerous, what would happen if we hit the wrong switch???? Sixth, On their website they gave absolutely NO indication that they were not really functioning or open to serve guests. Had we known we would have found alternate accommodation. This situation was appalling and disappointing. I think your website should be updated to reflect the actual situation. Sent from my iPhone
