Molino de Alcuneza Relais & Chateaux

My wife and I first visited this oasis of tranquility way back in 2008 for just one night to celebrate our 25th Wedding anniversary, and we had the most enjoyable meal we’d ever had in Spain till then. However, the charm of the old mill  stayed in our minds and when it came to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary in 2023, we decided to return for a longer stay.  Arriving by train in Sigüenza, we looked for a taxi but in Sigüenza in August, they’re like hen’s teeth :-)  (Ie non existent ) So, chancing our luck we phoned the Hotel and they graciously sent a car to pick us up (first good point), on arrival we were very warmly greeted by Inés (Head of Reception) who congratulated us on our anniversary (evidently when booking, I’d mentioned we were coming to celebrate our 40th) and on arrival in the room, there was a bottle of champagne and a large jar of their honey together with a welcome card wishing us a happy Anniversary and a pleasant stay. Staff The first thing to be mentioned was that all the staff had very pleasant attitude with smiles being the default, I can’t emphasise enough just how pleasantI the staff were as I think this makes or breaks a stay in a hotel,  personally I think  they all took their lead from Inés who was always around to help with any issues.  Food The food in the Bistro (the cheaper option)  was at the same level as the Restaurant with the tasting menu being Michelin star worthy  Environment  The grounds were really extensive with plenty of space where one could enjoy the peace and quiet of the countryside. The Room It was quite quaint as was to be expected of a mill conversion, very comfortable however.  The Verdict I can’t sing the praise of this very pleasant haven of tranquility enough All in all a very, very enjoyable stay, literally everything was just perfect  Oh and of course,  needless to say, on departure they ferried us back to Sigüenza Would we return? You bet we will.

The hotel is in the countryside and it is peaceful here. We had a room overlooking the swimming pool. Bianca and her staff in the hotel were very helpful. The only negative was breakfast in the restaurant. We asked for more croissants to be told none availble! Also we had to go into the kitchen area to ask the staff to come and attend to us.

Beautiful boutique hotel in a peaceful setting. It’s the finer details and personal touches that make this hotel stand out and you can tell that a lot of love and thought has gone into each space. Room was beautifully decorated and luxurious. Bed very comfortable! It’s a shame the weather was poor during our stay as we would have loved to spend more time outside on the terrace and by the pool. Loved the option to dine in-house alfresco at the Bistro as storms stopped us from venturing out to Siguenza for dinner. The food was very good, especially the breakfast consisting of in-house made treats and locally sourced produce. We were sad to leave!

The restaurant experience is unique and the accommodation very comfortable. The area is very peaceful and Siguenza is a superb village! Some improvements can be made for a nicer experience in the Spa & Massage rituals.

Like home and treated as such where nothing is too much trouble. Superb surroundings and outstanding food. Owners always on hand or hand picked experienced staff. Location is excellent with wonderful surrounding countryside.

Having escaped from France to find some sun, we were not far from Madrid. We stayed at the Parador at Siguenza, but found that the restaurant was closed on Sunday. However within a short drive is the Molino de Alcuneza. We booked for dinner- and what an excellent choice. We chose the Molino menu at 68 euros. We started with five well matched hors d'oeuvre, followed by four courses of Trout, followed by Pigeon, Pork and Lamb. The portions were correct and the flavours complemented on another perfectly. This was well worth the rosette, for the ambiance, the food ,the wine and n the service, which was exceptional.(And in English) Next time we are making our way to Madrid, we will certainly take a detour to stay at the Molino d'Alcuneza.

Das Hotel liegt wunderbar ruhig etwa 6 km außerhalb von Sigüenza, die naheliegens Schnellbahnrrasse ist kaum wahrzunehmen. Die Außenanlagen sind gut gepflegt, der Pool ist gar nicht so klein, aber wohl unbeheizt. Unser Zimmer war groß, sauber und mit wunderbaren Betten ausgestattet, alle Mitarbeiter waren stets freundlich und zugewandt. Dem Hotel ist ein Sterne Restaurant angeschlossen das nicht täglich geöffnet hat, als Hotelgast kann man an Schließtagen dennoch in den Genuss eines der Menüs kommen, wenn dann auch nicht alle Menüs zur Auswahl stehen, selbst für nur einen Tisch steht die Küche zur Stelle - Bravo ! Wer es eine Nummer kleiner will nimmt speist im Bistro, das ist auch nicht günstig aber jeden Euro wert. Allein die überaus schmackhafte Brotvielfalt, Danke dafür. Die kulinarische Linie setzt sich auch beim Frühstück fort - leckeres Brot, kleine hausgemachte Gebäckspielereien, huasgemachtes Yoghurt, einen Erdbeershot, eine Auswahl deftigem - der Tag fing so immer gleich hervorragend an. Auch wenn das Hotel für ein 4-Sterne Haus eher im oberen Preissegment liegt ist es das aus unserer Sicht Wert gewesen.

Fin de semana en pareja perfecto, la habitación súper amplia y cómoda. El restaurante tiene una comida exquisita y con una gran variedad de vinos. Contratamos también una tarde de spa y fue súper relajante. Gracias por la atención que nos disteis. Estoy deseando volver.

Ha sido la escapada que necesitábamos!! Descubrimos el hotel el año pasado, y al estar super cerca de Madrid, nos pudimos escapar para celebrar San Valentín. Esta vez nos alojamos en una habitación Superior en planta baja en el edificio que está frente a la piscina. La habitación era super bonita. Pudimos descansar y disfrutar del hotel. El personal fue excelente... todo cuidado con mucho mimo. Es nuestra segunda vez... pero volveremos. Seguro.
