Wingait Inn - Hotel Near the Mall Road

Location is average, not a great view in feomt. Limited, steep parking. It's an old structure, needs maintenance and new furniture. Rooms are small. 3. 4kms from the mall road. Food is good. Local cab facility available at front desk. Staff is helpful.

The hotel was very good. Our room was neat and clean and very spacious. The view from our window was also amazing. We ordered food from the hotel and it was fresh and tasty, also since they prepared it the moment you order so there’s no way of getting stale food from their end. The room service was quick and hotel manager was extremely courteous. It was raining heavily and all the roads were broken and they were landslides in shimla and the staff was very concerned and kept calling and asking in case we were ok and needed help until we reached home. Kudos to the staff for being so humble and kind during those difficult times.

Wingait shimla, is quite old property. Check in check out was. But rooms need good level of reconditioning. Windows aren't air tight & cold breeze keeps rushing in. Electricals are pretty old, keeps shutting mcb. Room heaters are charged additional at rs. 250- per day. Which was not acceptable. Food quality is below average, rather opt for other

Perfect location, the mall is only two and half kms rooms are decent and staff is very humble.

1 star for staff behaviour and service. They do their best and no complaint about that. Another star is for location. Near to all important places. You can see the sun rise from your bed. Apart from this everything is bad to average. Rooms are very small. I have never seen such a small room. Furniture and fittings are outdated. In a small room you will see 2 bulky chairs placed in different angle as you can't place the chair stright, rooms are that much small. Food is average. Menu is very small and for most of the items they will say it's not available. They took too much time to prepare. And finally it's not worth the price they are charging. I have paid per day. Maximum 1500 is justified.

The hotel was excellent, the owner is very down to earth person, managers and staff were polite, clean and tidy stay. Amazing view adjacent to the hotel. 5 star

The hotel is slightly away from the hustle and bustle of the Mall, amidst greenery. The property is beautiful and well-maintained. Food is good, although it's a little expensive. The staff is friendly.

I stayed at this hotel for one night on my way from Rohru to Delhi. The hotel is bang on the Shimla-Solan road in the posh area of Shimla right opposite Akashvani Kendra. But, this hotel is *******. It is a small property and the fixtures are nicely done but are unkempt. The chairs are grand but dusty. Me and my colleague slept around 12.30pm and around 1.30 am I woke up on listening the sound of an alarm. I did not set an alarm in my phone, so I woke my colleague to switch off the alarm in his phone. He woke up, but even he hadn’t set alarm in his phone. We realised that the alarm tone was coming from the landline phone instrument which didn’t even have the alarm function in it! So, to check, my colleague picked up the phone receiver; but no one spoke from the other side. As soon as my colleague put the receiver down, the bed started shaking vigorously. We were both above 100 kgs, so it’s not easy to shake the bed with two such heavy people. The bed shook for good 15 seconds. We thought it might have been an earthquake; and went to sleep. In the morning, I googled but there was no news of any earthquake in Shimla. When we asked the receptionist in the morning, he quickly dismissed the discussion saying that it could have been an earthquake. When I inquired about the history of the hotel, the receptionist told me that it was once the abode of the Viceroy’s daughter. I guess, she still likes to shake hands with her visitors!
