The Heritage Club - Tripura Castle

We were 6. Ladies stayed there April 24 . The rooms r fairly good but the food very expensive and not upto the mark . We had to leave early the next morning and requested for packed breakfast , but when v opened it midway we’re very disappointed to find only a few pieces of papaya and nothing else packed : since there wasn’t any eateries mid way had to subsist on the snacks we had taken .

This is regarding my stay for three nights (March 14th, 2024 to March 17th, 2024) at the Heritage Club – Tripura Castle, Shillong. I think it is a very good property. The pan Asian cuisine is very good. Unfortunately, the room that I got (Deluxe Room --- No. 104) was wanting in ***y aspects, some of which I share here. This is particularly notable since we are senior citizens. 1. The bed has only one side table (Pic-01). At our age, each of us needs a side table. 2. Either the fridge works, or the kettle. There is only one socket and the other plug is lying on the floor (Pic-02). 3. The narrow space between the bed and the support pillar makes it difficult to go to the washroom in the middle of night when one is asleep, without the fear of stumbling due to the step because of the unusual split-level flooring (Pic-03). 4. The plaster on the wall (Pic-04) --- I do not think I am happy to pay this kind of money for a room with such maintenance. 5. The broken leg of the bed (Pic-05), which did not bother us, and which we could see only because of the split-level flooring. 6. The floor of the room on the upper level, where the bed was there, had a clear slope. My request/suggestion to the property is they should do not assign this room to anyone without attending to the above mentioned. I wrote to their CEO, got an apology from them, but I would not like other guests to suffer the same problems that I did. While the staff is cordial, they do not revert….anything that you ask for is responded with a big smile, and that is the end of it. If they are unable to heed to your request, they do not think it is important to revert. An example: to cater to all kinds of guests, they have in breakfast, amongst other things, paratha and sabji….which is very Panjabi. AFAIK, this is generally accompanied with curd, which they did not have --- worse, on enquiring, the lady said she will ask and return, and never came back :-).

Four college friends on a trip to Meghalaya, we stayed at this property and had a very good experience! It's an old castle so very unique looking and the rooms are huge and well appointed. The service is excellent. From the check in to our buggies for the restaurant everything was very well taken care of. I would like to mention Anamika from the restaurant who was a very pleasant person who looked after our needs very well. On the food front they could incorporate some local Khasi dishes in the menu. It was all North Indian food mostly. Breakfast was nice with a good spread. Bobby was very attentive and looked after us nicely. Overall a very good experience!

I had a medical emergency and underwent surgery because of which i had to cancel my reservation at Tripura Castle. But they intentionally delayed my request for cancellation and then refused to refund me the amount although I sent them all the medical documents. They are greedy and dont have any hu***itarian considerations. Pls avoid this place at any cost!

The place is ok and is on hills. But it's expensive for the type of room.i stayed in room and it's like old fashioned room. The property is big one compared to the places in shillong. Breakfast is good .a bit costly for the offering. A bit far from theain city area and market.so in case you are planning arrange your evening foods etc

Simply appalling, unwelcoming and a complete sham with regard to 'Heritage'. Fake books by Shakespeare in reception. No style, awful rooms, cold, stark and unfriendly. We arrived at 8pm after a 6h drive intending to stay for 2d, but left at 6am the following morning. Best decision ever

Very bad experience. I had booked the heritage hotel for 2 days. The location was far from the city centre isolated with no taxi services nearby. They had 5 campus so the restaurant and stay complex was different for which we faced a lot of inconvenience. The food of the restaurant was not good at all. They served us burnt garlic naan. Even when we ordered food to room they served after 1hour. The room heater was not working properly. Overall a very bad experience.

Really poor in terms of service.Staff lack the necessary training to communicate with the guest any request from ourside they just ignore showing attitude. They are ignorant about the proper order and presentation of meals,didn't give all the food which we have ordered, did even apologize for the same.There is a lengthy wait for the service about 2 hours.Even when the food came it was cold. Felt waste of money going to a place like this. Even asking for the bill have to asked multiple staffs...still didn't receive the bill have to go myself to the counter n pay. All in all, we shouldn't take a chance with a restaurant like this. Would recommend everyone not to come to this place.

Situated amidst a lish greenery of nature, a beautiful hotel with a touch of colonial style bungalow. Calm, quiet, serene ambiance with great food. A nice place to pass a quiet day with friends and family.
