"A Lovely Stay with Wonderful Staff We recently stayed at this B&B in Shanklin, Isle of Wight, and overall had a lovely stay. The staff were absolutely amazing, so welcoming, friendly and helpful, which really made a difference to our experience. The gardens outside were beautiful, and the downstairs decor was lovely, creating a really pleasant atmosphere. There were, however, a few areas where we felt improvements could be made. The bedrooms could benefit from a little updating, and we were disappointed that the bar closed at 5pm. We understand this is due to staffing costs, but it would have been nice to enjoy a drink in the evening. Although the B&B is rated as 4-star accommodation, we personally felt that the rooms and facilities were more in keeping with a 3-star rating. We don’t want to take away from the hard work of the wonderful staff, who really were a credit to the establishment. With a little investment in the bedrooms and some additional evening facilities, this could be an even better place to stay. Thank you for making us feel so welcome."

"You might have an idea of what to expect from a hotel stay: to be greeted at the front desk, to have a bar and a breakfast service on the premises, to stay in a room which is serviced with fresh towels and clean linen... There's none of that here. We stayed for a week and some days saw no staff (there's a webcam in reception). There were tea and coffee making facilities in our room when we arrived but this was never replenished, the towels were never changed, the bed was never changed; the curtain was hanging off the rail; the bar downstairs was never opened. The website claims that breakfast can be booked for £10 per person but good luck finding anyone to book it with. There are a number of very pleasant hotels along Queens Road but sadly this isn't one of them."

"We had a wonderful family stay at this beautiful beachside property. The location is absolutely perfect, with stunning views of the beach and the sea right from the property. Waking up to the sound of the waves and enjoying the breathtaking scenery every day made our holiday truly special. A special thank you to Salma, who was incredibly kind, welcoming, and helpful throughout our stay. She went above and beyond to ensure that we were comfortable and had everything we needed. Her friendly attitude and excellent hospitality made us feel right at home. The property is very well maintained, clean, comfortable, and ideal for families. The peaceful atmosphere, beautiful surroundings, and direct access to the beach created the perfect setting for a relaxing vacation. We highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a memorable beachside getaway. Thank you, Salma, for making our stay so enjoyable. We would love to return again in the future! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐"

Luccombe Villa Holiday Apartments
"Ao passarmos duas noites em Chris e Katy, eles contribuíram para a nossa estadia na ilha, que era muito bonita e acomodante desde o início. Tive de mudar a data de chegada, MAS não parecia que fosse um problema.Depois de um terrível chat no telefone (até o melhor dos amigos!) NOS upgradei e nos deu Cherry Tops - a cerveja no bolo! 🍒 Uma casal muito quente, tivemos conversas divertidas e divertimos-nos com muitas dicas úteis para a nossa estadia, mais, na verdade, um saco de cozinha surpresa trata à nossa porta esta manhã, no nosso último dia. A propósito, a piscina deve ser nada, independentemente do tempo - apenas um adicionamento glorioso e seria apenas errado não. Então, se você é um casal ou uma família (no nosso caso, as filhas (20 e 18) você não vai arrepender-se de reservar aqui. É apenas lindo. Oh, mais uma coisa - por favor, faça o e-bike de Red Squirrel - outra reserva você não vai arrepender!"
The Belmont
"Whoever cannot rate the Belmont as 5* or can in any way find fault won’t have stayed at the same Belmont as we just have. It’s by far the best B&B hotel we’ve visited. Linda and Des run it in their own way very different and much better than elsewhere. Our comfortable room (20) was huge with direct access onto the front veranda. The breakfast choices were numerous, the pool area very inviting and when it’s wet (we had two days of it) the large lounge is yours for however long you wish with a tempting sweets and snacks cabinet nearby alongside the ice cream freezer apart from which sandwiches and more can be ordered for lunch so if needs be there’s no need on such days to go elsewhere except of course for dinner. Shanklin has a wide variety of restaurants, pretty pricey on the whole it has to be said but that’s how it is wherever you go. At the cheaper no frills end we ate at the Happy Haddock and the Paramount (booking very much recommended) but watch evening opening hours at both, while the others were the Village Inn and Amici (a very good Italian restaurant) where booking quite well in advance is essential at both (we booked a couple of weeks before leaving home), all of which are in the High Street, and finally the Steamer Inn on the seafront who don’t take bookings so be ready if necessary to wait as it’s very popular. And when you get back to the Belmont there’s a well-stocked bar. As for getting about, the island bus service is reliably good so forget the car unless it’s necessary. We left ours at home, using our county bus passes but if you do the same they are acceptable on all regular numbered routes but not the specials. That said, if you’re 60+ a 24-hour ticket on the latter will cost you just £9.30 and considering how far that can get you it’s good value. Despite a cold wind blowing for a large part of our two week’s stay we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and can very much recommend the Belmont."
