Ginco Hotel

Unfortunately the photos at the website are a bit misleading. The room was a total disaster. Basically no storage for anything anywhere. No space to even put shaving cream and shaver. No space to put anything at the sink and in the shower. First look when I entered it was ok but once you start unpacking or using the toilet and shower the disaster starts. The shower is so weak and not stable with the temperature. The Aircon wasn’t working the last night and it was so cold. The windows are badly fitted. Cold air and especially noise from the street is coming straight and unfiltered to your room. I am on the second highest floor. The lights would not turn on for like two minutes after entering the room. Each button has to be pushed twice to switch on lights. Everything was making me mad. It’s the worst experience and I can’t recommend this hotel to anyone. Unless I wanna punish that person. And also can’t work in the room literally no space ! Breakfast also is just for the eyes. First look it looks ok on photos but when you are a totally sitting there and tried some of the food it was just so poorly made and tastes bad. The only and really only good thing about this place is the coffeemaker in the lobby. But they sometimes don’t refill it. …

Great experience. The room is always clean. The hotel's design is great and always smells nice. They have a lot of services to offer (meditation, dressing experience, free coffee, and some drinks). 10 minutes from the subway but the area has some nice shops.

Very nice hotel in a nice neighbourhood - can easily explore shanghai main attractions by foot or a metro station is not very far. There is a restaurant but did not seem to have any clients but nice places within walking distance so not an issue. Nice Japanese design / warm rooms / good shower

Cute designed hotel in the Jing’an area. The rooms are nicely designed and practical. The staff is kind and friendly, even if many of them are not speaking English, they try there best to communicate with foreigners. I had an early departure and the receptionist was so kind to make me a coffee and some muffins to go. The area is full with small coffee shops and restaurants and after a short walk the Nanjing Road area can be reached. I’m looking forward to come back again.

Very nice hotel! Shower door is see through

It's a small modern hotel with fashionable decor and kind service. The rooms are small but I love the Japanese theme and the comfortable bed. The location is convenient as it's in the middle of the city, a ten minute car ride to popular locations. The breakfast was average but the service outstanding. The reception was very patient with my lack of Chinese and I was able to use Google translate when needed.

This a a cute hotel in a great location if you want to go out in downtown Shanghai, since its surrounded by restaurants and bars. The room is of a good size and although the soundproofing isnt amazing there were no noisy guests on my floor so I slept well and the bed was warm and comfortable. The reception staff were friendly and efficient,and there is a nice cafe downstairs. The sink in the bedroom area is a little odd but that is really the only bad thing I can say.

Location is extremely amazing. You are in the middle of all the newly gentrified areas without being in the middle of the touristy area. Safe, great selection of food and beverages within walking distance.

Really was a great stay. I stay in this area often and tried this hotel over UrCove and it was so much better. I usually wake up at 5 am but I slept so good here I didn’t get up until 9 which is a rarity. Highly recommend. Staff great as well
