Very friendly staff. At check-in I was shown the room after being shown the lodge and its amenities. Our room was a good size with a nice size bathroom. Rooms have a DVD-VHS player and there are hundreds of movies and TV shows in their DVD-VHS library located in the conference room. It was quite impressive. Food was very heavy, comfort-type foods, which many like, but we do not. After discussing the breakfast offerings, I was told that their menu is posted online. It's not and I went back to verify minutes after being told this. During the stay I emailed ownership/management about some things that rubbed us the wrong way and was told that "our General Manager, will be at the lodge tomorrow to chat with you personally. She wants to ensure the rest of your stay is enjoyable. Your feedback is valuable, and we appreciate the chance to improve." The only contact I had was with our server at breakfast and with someone at check-out. At no time did the GM chat with me personally to perhaps clear the air about my grievances. This establishment operates as a chain would operate, which is a far cry from other privately owned properties we visited over the years. Overall, clean building with nice rooms, but based on my experience as a consumer and long ago provider of lodging and hospitality services in my family's business, upper management gives the impression that it is composed of too many upper level managers.
