"Truly “Memorable” Stay I recently stayed at the American Inn in Selma, booked through Vio.com. Where do I start? The room was… let’s say quaint, in the sense that it was far from what I expected. The condition of the room was poor enough that ******* (through Vio) offered a “generous” 15% refund — which I politely declined. The location is along a busy road, so walking anywhere interesting is a challenge, and if you’re hoping for a cozy, safe, or quiet experience, let’s just say the ambiance keeps you on your toes. I’d suggest setting your expectations accordingly. Overall, it’s a stay you won’t forget… whether you want to or not. Consider this review my public service announcement: if you like adventure, or perhaps enjoy negotiating refunds for a small discount, this place is perfect for you."

"This was one of the worse Hotels I’ve been in. Ceiling had mildew all across it, bugs on the floor and immediately as you open the door to the room the smell was horrible. The surroundings of the hotel and the hotel itself looked to be very dangerous and easy to break into. Even the front door didn’t close properly. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone"

"We drove all the way to Selma from North Florida to get out of range of Hurricane Helene. This hotel was a great choice. Decent price. Comfortable. Friendly, helpful staff. The place was spotless. I would definitely stay here again. But be warned - there is pretty much no good food in Selma!"
