Travelodge Sedgefield

Made list so did not forget many facets of awfulness No ac fan inadequate in 21c. Not sure why we were given a room facing sun. The hotel was barely half open. Room needed cleaning Windows filthy and condensation Pathetic wifi - phone reception blocked? Bathroom stank and full of flies Useless tv Some resident decided to have bbq a few metres from front of hotel. staff did nothing so they entertained us for a few hours Woken up by a “lady” swearing at top of stairs. Situated on a roundabout so car fumes engine noise Pitiful facilities both within and closeby Inadequate number of plugs. 2 were vertical! This company do not deserve to exist in this day and age. We have decided if we can not afford to stay somewhere decent(definition not a Travelodge) then we will stay at home in future.

This was a perfect place to stay , very clean, room aired can not complain about anything staff lovely and helpful

Stayed in hotel last night.. During my stay was taken ill during the night and needed paramedics to come to my assistance.. My thanks to Anthony who was on reception duty for his kindness and help through the night…My wife and I are so grateful , Anthony is a real star and a credit to the Travelodge company… D

Lovely staff, hotel nice and clean, they accept dogs and don’t charge ridiculous amount. Easy to find and good location just of A1, easy access to all areas of County Durham there’s a restaurant next door Indian excellent food.

Bed sheet was covered with hair, and had two spots of dried blood. I went to bed by the light coming from the TV so didn't notice how dirty the bedsheets were. I rolled the duvet over and the side I didn't sleep in was worse. Dirty bedding is unacceptable.

Although around the 10 minute walk into the centre of Sedgefield this hotel is really well located and we would definitely stay there again. One of the main reasons for this with the staff and Reception who were really pleasant and could not have been more helpful. The rooms themselves are Fairly basic but have everything you need. We got a good nights sleep and the fact there is a 24 hour petrol station right opposite meant we were able to get a nice Costa Coffee in the morning as well. I've said it before but it seems weird they don't offer free Wi-Fi and increase the room rate a bit. Paying £3 a day Seems really old-fashioned and very in mind this is per device so it can mount up. Overall although it was a really comfortable visit and we would definitely use this brand again. It would also get a five star review probably if it's sorted the Wi-Fi situation out!

I arrived at the hotel late evening feeling tired and cold and was greeted with a lovely warm welcome from reception staff member Anthony. He detailed all I needed for my stay and ensured a very comfortable stay. My room was lovely and warm and a shout to the domestic team my room was immaculately clean. A further feature of the hotel was quietness both inside and outside. I really enjoyed my stay. Met Clare the manager next morning and on leaving she hoped to see me again. I arrived home late last night and based on my stay at Travelodge at Sedgefield I this morning have made two further bookings at the same hotel for my next visits in March.

We always chose this travelodge to visit our family in the local area. Unfortunately there’s no ground floor due to a flash flood I believe,although the manager Claire told us it will be fixed. Not so much of an issue for us but if you need ground floor I’d be checking with the hotel. Another fabulous stay, immaculate rooms and such lovely staff who are there to help. Still can’t get a taxi in Sedgefield but this is not the fault of the hotel. See you next year!

As above the room was clean and tidy but the decor and general room was tied, bits a damage and marks to the walls. We usually stay in Premier inns so are used to a higher quality hotel but that was reflected in the price paid on this visit.
