It is quite a treat to stay at The Cloister. We were here for a wedding weekend - everything was perfect! Only disappoin**ent was the weather didn’t cooperate for a ride on The Explorer (boat located next to Black Banks Terrace). Instead had a wonderful meal at Tavala. Welcome party outside the Beach Club with perfect weather! Wedding was in gorgeous garden outside The Cloister with reception in a ballroom. Service was outstanding by all staff. Room was huge and so comfortable! We have stayed here off and on over many years starting with our daughter being a Junior Staffer in college - always a wonderful experience!

An unbelievably beautiful resort with a friendly happy staff that are very accommodating . The spa, golf, and amenities are all world class. We had a wonderful time.

The resort had many issues with services on our trip. I had reserved a mother daughter spa appoin**ent for Mother's Day far in advance. Two days before arrival they canceled by text with no explanation or alternative. We asked the concierge to upgrade our dinner reservations to the Colt and Allison and they tried to charge us a "penalty" of $225 to do so. It took hours of frustrating phone calls and time wasted with repeated direction to a computerized switchboard to correct the issue. The petty issues we ran into seemed more in line with lesser resorts. We have been coming to the Island our whole lives. This is definitely not the high-end experience of the past.

I highly recommend Sea Island and staying at The Cloisters. We golfed 3 times (Plantation, Seaside and Retreat) and loved all 3 courses. The Cloisters is outstanding, great location and lovely rooms. Take a pedal bike down Sea Island Drive and see some fabulous homes, including John Por**an’s Entelechy II. Amazing home!! We will definitely be returning to Sea Island.

Over 40 years time I have watched Sea Island change from a family resort into a huge over priced world class center for activity. The natural beauty is still there, but the culture has evolved. No longer does one hear southern drawls, but the staff speaks quickly with their Asian accents.I miss the wonderful way it used to be, but life is about new memories and new joys!

I have stayed in some great places in the U.S. and a few other countries but this place was the best ever. It had a variety of restaurants and bars. You can experience having a drink at a classic bar with walls full of leather bound books to a casual white sand beach bar on the ocean. The activities offered range from falconry to tennis to golf, skeet shooting, horseback riding and more. My only regret was not knowing how wonderful this place was ahead of time. I would have had to stay a few more days at least.

This property is top notch, it’s extremely beautiful and had a great time here! There are plenty of activities to do here for all ages to enjoy the world class facilities. The staff was very polite and courteous to help with all your needs. I highly recommend coming here!

The Cloister at Sea Island is over-the-top. Certainly big $$$ ticket but they deliver the goods. Exceptional service, immaculate facility, totally attentive staff. While this was my first stay and only for two nights, most of the staff called me by first name! Regret that I wasn't able to take advantage of the amenities, golf, beach, spa, horseback, trails, etc. Foodwise, I only had a light salad from the beach grill snackbar, but it was just perfect and reasonable cost. My assigned room was in one of the main hotel wings and was huge. However, the HVAC fan was a bit noisy, despite the fact that it was a cool, mild night. I mentioned the issue in the morning and was graciously transferred to a beach resort room, where I was able to totally turn off the fan.

Sea Island is one of the most beautiful locations in the world. Fun for all age groups. If you are planning a vacation for your family, this is the place for you. Spa, Tennis, Golf, and many other activities. This was our 6th trip to Sea Island and we hope for many more.
