I saw this hotel on the ******* website with about 1,500 reviews, which looked decent, and the room pictures seemed alright, so I booked it. When I arrived in Savannah and checked Google Maps, it only had one star. I felt uneasy but thought I could manage for one night. However, I was woken up in the middle of the night by loud engines outside. It was past 2 AM. After about ten to twenty minutes, someone ran down the hallway and started shouting at people outside the bar across the street, which scared me as I was with my two young daughters.
I called the front desk to report our experience. The receptionist was apologetic but mentioned they had no other rooms available due to the weekend rush and promised the manager would contact me the next day. They assured me they had recorded my experience. I couldn't sleep that night out of fear. The next morning, when I went to check out, another front desk staff, unaware of my ordeal, was rude and mentioned the manager hadn't arrived yet, so they couldn't do anything. I suggested leaving my phone number for the manager to contact me, but I never received a call all day.
It's hard to trust ******* ratings.
