Aura-Hotel Saulgrub

The hotel is situated in a very pleasant and peaceful location a few miles from Oberammergau. We had booked two nights here as part of an official 'arrangement' that included tickets for the 2022 Passion Play (postponed from 2020), dinner at the hotel on the first night, two breakfasts and a meal at a restaurant in Oberammergau during the three hour interval between the Acts. Unfortunately, there seemed to have been a misunderstanding or breakdown in communications between the organisers and the hotel, which resulted in our not being given the accessible room we believed we had booked. Fortunately we were able to use another room which, although not truly accessible, was fine for a couple of nights. We do not think the above was the fault of the hotel, who managed to arrange for us to park our hire car very near the Passion Theater in one of the very limited number of spaces available there. This was important because we were told that my partner would not be able to take her electric wheelchair on the bus that had been organised to shuttle guests between the hotel and the Theater. Similarly, the restaurant reserved for our inter Acts meal was not accessible, but again this was not the hotel's fault. The Aura itself is delightful. It caters especially for visually impaired people and those with limited mobility. Although we did not avail ourselves of these opportunities, various walks, events etc are organised to enable everyone who so wishes to be included in the numerous activities on offer. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our evening meal and breakfasts there, and gluten free options were available. We would return without hesitation provided we could definitely be guaranteed an accessible room.

I was on a two-night stay primarily to attend the Passion Play in Oberammergau. The hotel was just amazing. The setting is idyllic, with rooms facing the mountains. The staff could not have been kinder or more attentive - everything perfectly organised and all questions answered with a smile. The food was excellent. The hotel is specially equipped for people with visual impairment and that in itself was an inspiration. The hotel is easily reached - a beautiful 20 minute walk from Saulgrub station.

Stayed at Aura Hotel for Passion Play visit. Wonderful staff, and dining room. Rooms spacious and our had balcony with view to mountains. Beautiful setting with extensive grounds and places to walk. Hotel also accommodates visually impaired which was inspiring to watch staff and visitor interactions. Dining room has a magic butter machine that you can get checked out on. Desk staff, Petra Kluth-Meinig, is someone who will exceed expectations to help. She Arranged for a coveted taxi ride to Munich for air flight when we had given up being able to get there and always was helpful. Beautiful facility, place, and prople.

The hotel is lovely. The rooms overlook the extensive grounds and the mountains. I think all rooms have a balcony with lounger and sun umbrella. My single room had masses of storage but the shower room was a bit small. The bar is open all day with outside eating area, lunches are available. Breakfast (buffet) and dinner (served) was taken in the dining room. There seemed to be walking/cycling routes nearby. The pool etc. were closed. I went to see the Passionplay. There is a shuttle bus but I took a taxi into the village and got the bus back. There is a lift in the hotel.

Das Aura Hotel in Saulgrub bietet modern eingerichtete Zimmer mit Balkon. Das Hotel verfügt über einen großen Park, den wir jeden Morgen und Abend genutzt haben, um unseren kleinen Hund spazieren zu führen. Also noch was - in diesem Hotel sind Hunde willkommen. Das Frühstücksbuffet war hervorragend ausgestattet. Am Abend haben wir einmal à la card gegessen. Das Essen war einfach und hat hervorragend geschmeckt. Besonders empfehlenswert - der Kaiserschmarren. Was uns dort besonders gut gefallen hat - Das Personal vom Empfang bis zum Restaurant war extrem freundlich und aufmerksam. Das Hotel ist auf blinde und seheingeschränkte Gäste spezialisiert. Als sehende Gäste haben wir das erste Mal in dem Hotel übernachtet und waren extrem beeindruckt, wie Inklusion dort funktioniert. Wir kommen gerne wieder!

Alleinstehend, sehr ruhig gelegen. Gutes und reichhaltiges Frühstücksbuffet. Personen und vor allem Blinde (das Hotel ist barrierefrei) werden auch bedient. Die Möbel in den Zimmern sind neu. Die Zimmer eher klein, was aber nicht stört. Halbpension im Haus möglich, Ausflüge werden organisiert.

Die Zimmer sind sauber und zweckmäßig, es ist alles vorhanden, was benötigt wird. Das Personal ist überaus freundlich und mit Herz bei der Arbeit. Das Frühstück ist sehr reichlich. Ich kann dieses Haus nur empfehlen.
