Aqualuna Beach Resort

This was, and continues to be, a very unpleasant experience. I booked through Wotif and selected the pre-pay option, paying the room rate with my credit card. Upon arriving at the property the reception did not have staff present and a message on the window stated that we should have already received a text message with instructions for check-in. I had not received those instructions. The message also stated that if there were any issues I should text a number, but not call, as if I called I would incur a call out fee. I sent a text off and received a text in response advising me that as I had not paid for the property I would not be able to access my room. I responded and explained that I had paid via Wotif. I then received a phone call from a man employed by the property advising me that they did not take payment through Wotif and that I would have to pay again if I wanted to access the room. He also told me that he would organise a refund through Wotif for me. It was Chris**as Eve and my friend and I needed somewhere to stay so I begrudgingly paid for the room again, reassured that I would be receiving a refund. The new fee was an additional $30.00 to the original fee that I had paid. I have not received a refund as Wotif require the property's consent to do this and clearly it has not been provided. I am now out of pocket $290.00. In addition, the rooms were tired and there was no wifi. It was not worth the money I paid. Do not stay here, I do not recommend it.

Beach access very good. However there was no wifi. Only found out once we checked into property. Inside shelves of wardrobe needed cleaning. Grouting around shower tiles needed cleaning. Bathroom was designed for persons with a disability and layout did not appeal to us…lack of shower screen caused water to spread onto much of bathroom floor. Plastic kitchen chairs were in need of a clean. Also was lacking in supply of kitchenware.

Very nice place. Fair price for what it is. Areas of the apar**ent had not been cleaned for a while (behind the microwave was very dirty) and the sliding door was impossible for anyone in the family to move except me (I am very large and strong) as it needed some serious maintenance. It could only be locked with a long piece of wood (which they had provided) as the latch was broken. Very short walk to the beach. Great location.

Great pool. Great location. Wonderful public BBQ area. Maintenance of the actual room was very poor. There was a light switch hanging off the wall with electrical wires exposed, shower head was so flimsy that it could not hold up it's own weight and the room smelt very damp. The exposed electrical wires were very disappointing. They were insulated and the copper was not visible but that was a shock to see.

Nice and quite heaps and easy parking. No cafe or dinning area as it use to be when i visited last time few years ago

The property was fine for what we needed (a one night stopover on the way from Brisbane to Sydney) however there was a horrible smell coming from the drains. The bathrooms did not have doors on them either

This is the first non contact accommodation we used, it’s so easy, the whole place is just beyond belief, I wish we could have stayed 3 or 4 days

The property was dirty, the reception was abandoned, the only contact with them was text, unhelpful, unclean, run down and massively over priced. I sent you and email, and gave thr a Google review... Not happy!

Beautiful location with great pool, beautiful beach and excellent facilities within the complex. The properties we stayed in however are in need of proper cleaning and could do with proper up keep. Both properties are in need of a total re fit after years of use as holiday rentals (broken doors, missing doors, stained carpets mouldy bathrooms etc). The only saving grace these properties have going for them is the amazing location and the excellent complex in which they are situated. For the price, I would not recommend stating here unless significant improvements are made to the cleanliness and the overall condition of these properties.
