Mangrove Tree Resort World Sanya Bay - Kapok

This resort is a one-stop place. You have everything in one place. It has excellent amenities, from restaurants to shopping areas. It is also convenient for going places. The rooms are big and spacious. We love the overlooking view into the resort. The are many choices for morning breakfast. The only thing that we didn't like was the old scent of the room. I have to buy air spray.

Excellent hotel for it's price. The room was top quality. Service was very good. buffet breakfast was very good. Facilities such as restaurants, swimming pools, activities etc were all very good too.

First I would like to thank Elan and Jack (front desk staff) for the very professional and excellent check in. The package including water park and one meal is an amazing deal, but, don’t choose dinner buffet because the food is horrible, which means all cheap foods in the buffet, and very limited desserts options. The room is very spacious and super clean and the view in the balcony is fantastic. I had an excellent stay and I will return soon .

This was a huge resort with everything you could need inside. It’s we’ll laid out and easy to get around. We had a layover at this hotel and was looking forward to just chilling by the pool and relaxing for the day. This was the only down fall. When walking around we noticed there wasn’t any pools that adults could use. Half of them had been blocked off and unused. There was a lot of boarded up areas and a lot of inaccessible areas. Other than that the hotel itself and the staff are great. Great for kids as it has a water park in the middle of the resort.

It is a very nice place to stay with kids.

This hotel very good location and good for family tour

This place is terrible! Nothing like the photographs and most of the facilities mentioned in the description are either closed or are so run down that they are unusable. The rooms are old, they don’t look clean, the air con drips water, they smell of mixture of musty and stale smoke. We had small flies (looked like fruit flies or drain flies) in the room. We also had a small geko/lizard run along the floor. Checkin was good and the guy was very amenable and spoke good English, unfortunately this didn’t make up for such poor quality of accommodation. Breakfast was hetic. Lots of the usual deep fried Chinese food and noodles, but not really any western breakfast options. The croissants and coffee were awful . It was a good job that the Starbucks in the resort is still open! Most of the restaurants in the resort are closed. Their interiors have either been ripped out or look like they have been left in a hurry, with furniture and cooking utensils randomly still in the units. The decked area from the hotel to the centre of the resort was rotten. It should be condemned as it could break at any moment. Many sections were sectioned off to prevent this risk and prevent you falling through the big holes that had formed. The same was true of the hotel pool area. Decking broken and loose (if you stepped on one end then other end popped up!). The water was cold and the water was dirty. General maintenance was poor. Walls crumbling, parts of roof structures rotten and falling to the ground (again sectioned off to protect from injury). The shopping mall is like a ghost town. Hardly any shops open. The water park is a disgrace! The wave machine wasn’t working (probably due the fact the water level was so low). The water depth stated 1.2m but is was about 0.6m. The blue paint was peeling of the floor in sheets and not only an eyesore but also a trip hazard. All of the eating and beverage outlets in the water park were once again abandoned. Cleanliness and maintenance of the slides, floors and water was terrible. Mould and miss growing on slides, floors dirty etc. We spent 10 minutes in the water park before leaving. The ‘food street’ was also abandoned. The only eating establishments in the whole resort that were open were KFC,Italian job and imperial duck. This far less than the 60 advertised! The concept of this resort is a great one, and I think when it was new then it would have been a great place to visit. Unfortunately, like a lot of other hotels and facilities, after the initial launch and investment it’s been left to degrade and end up in a semi abandoned state only being kept open whilst it’s basic costs can be met by the unfortunate guests that choose to stay there. As with so many other hotels…what was once good in its ‘hay day’ has very quickly become a place to avoid.

We had three weeks in this hotel. We’ve booked a simple room, but when arrived had a wonderful surprise- free upgrade to a family suite!! That was such a pleasure. I would like to thank two girls from reception Vicky and Anna for their professionalism and hospitality, good English and nice smile. The stay in the hotel was wonderful. Rooms were clean and spacious. The breakfast in hotel is reasonable, you can find food for any taste. Hotel territory is huge, and there are water park and shopping area just there for your enjoyment. Many restaurants with different cuisine from around the world are a great plus. And you can have a shuttle bus to go to another Mangrove tree hotels as a guest to enjoy the seaside. Totally enjoyed and surely will come back soon.
