Visited Santorini for first time celebrating wedding anniversary staying in a grand suite. This is the Santorini stay that we dreamed of when planning our visit. The view from the hotel is stunning and amazing to wake up to every day. What really shines through is the care and attention to detail from all the staff that we encountered during our stay. The inclusive breakfast is excellent with a wide selection to cater for any taste and means you don’t need to eat lunch (not that you want to in the heat!). As well as enjoying the terrace and plunge pool on a few days the hotel also arranged the Wineways exclusive tour (which we would highly recommend and will review separately) and also the private picnic for our anniversary. The private picnic was absolutely amazing. Staying in Oia you see 1000 of people make the trip to watch sunset. There is no better way you could see the sunset than the private picnic. I won’t ruin the experience for anyone but it is just you and your loved one fantastic wine and food with an uninterrupted view of the sunset. If you are planning a visit to Santorini we can’t recommend Santorini Secret Suites & Spa highly enough.

The hotel is absolutely beautiful with stunning views. The rooms are spacious with details that make it feel luxurious. Each room had a private balcony with a view of the Aegean Sea along a hot tub and chairs so you can relax outside. The staff were amazing and very thoughtful about making sure that guests have the best experience. The location is in the heart of Oia in Santorini so that you can stroll and take in beautiful views while having access to a multitude of shops and restaurants. I highly recommend Santorini Secret Suites!

This is a fabulous hotel! The view of the Agean Sea is spectacular from every room, the infinity pool, and the restaurant! The staff goes above and beyond to help you with the slightest detail. The food in the restaurant is excellent. The rooms are clean and maintained daily. It’s accessible to the main shopping area which has many choices for meals and entertainment, and the easy pick up point for off site tours of the island. You better have your walking shoes as there aren’t any elevators so it’s a daily walk up several flights of stairs. Enjoy!

We were THOROUGHLY disappointed by the accommodations and poor service. The hotel has about 30 rooms but only 8 guests can be accomodated by the only one pool, unless you are prepared to participate in an unseemly 7am - or earlier - scramble for a pool area lounge you will miss out for the day. The rooms are small, old fashioned with poor bathrooms and dirty. The breakfast was very poor, cold and 30 -40 minutes late everyday. Definitely NOT a 5* hotel.

2 night stay mid-May 2023 Located on the edge of the hillside overlooking the caldera. No you can’t see the sunset from the hotel but honestly I don’t think a sunset is as awesome as these ocean views. Property: Be forewarned there are a lot of stairs in this property. The reception is located down 2 flights of stairs. I arrived early and they stored my luggage for me until my room was ready. They also booked a cruise for me that included the island of Thirassia through Vista Cruise. I highly recommend it! The staff here are amazing and helpful. Pool, Bar: Small pool located at the bottom level of the property that overlooks the ocean. Several double lounger/beds, umbrellas, and single loungers surrounding the pool. There’s a bar next to the pool. Warning: Be careful around the pool the tile is slippery. Yes, I slipped and fell, making an ***** of myself- felt really old after that. Restaurant: My first afternoon after hiking from Fira to Oia I lounged by the pool and ordered a Greek salad from the restaurant. Food was excellent and so was the service. Breakfast: Each day you fill out an order form with what you want for breakfast the next morning and what time you want it delivered. Having my breakfast brought and setup each morning on the patio looking at this amazing view… omg worth it! Food was excellent too. Room: Large room with one of the biggest bathrooms I’ve seen. The mattress was on the firm side. When I climbed into bed the first night, every time I moved the bed creaked loudly. I moved to the other side to avoid that. The AC unit is located under the window, not on the same side as the bed. No matter what I or they did the room never quite cooled down very well. This is going to be an issue during summer. My room had a small patio with 2 loungers (positioned underneath the stairs), large umbrella, small table 2 chairs and jacuzzi. Bummer that the two loungers do not fit out in the sun, they are completely shaded by the stairs. Honestly I couldn’t figure out how to use the fancy shower and Eddie was kind enough to come show me. The shower does leak a bit onto the floor. On my 2nd day the towels in my room for use at the pool/spa were in bad shape with the edges completely coming apart. The replacement towels seemed fine at first but later on found that one had 3 holes in in the middle. My last night there, I wanted to get into the jacuzzi. There aren’t covers for the jacuzzi so bugs/leaves are in there, no big deal except this day some paper/trash had gotten in and was now sitting at the bottom. I asked for a pool skimmer so I could get the trash out. They told me initially someone would be by in 10 mins. After numerous WhatsApp communications (1.5hrs later) I gave up and got into the shower because I had dinner reservations. Of course when I got out of the shower the jacuzzi was cleaned. Argh🤦‍♀️ Pros: view, location, large bathroom, breakfast Cons: some maintenance and towel quality issues to work out. The soap

If you’re looking for a truthful and honest opinion of this hotel, stop scrolling and take a listen (apologies if bad grammar/flow, writing this on my flight). Also, please know this is not to destroy the reputation of this hotel, it’s moreso to reveal the incorrect rating this hotel was given. This is lengthy and may come off as me complaining, however, it’s honest feedback that I hope you read through. This will likely incur a deflection from the hotel, as I’ve noticed that they do not own up to any bad reviews, but I’ll attach any photos or communication I had with this “5-star” hotel. Upon arriving at Secrets, we were so excited to relax in this 5 star hotel, as this was our 3rd hotel stop on our honeymoon, especially after reading reviews on this site from other guests. We stayed in the room listed as “Premium Suite with Private Outdoor Hot Tub”. See below for the honest feedback by category: Check-In Process: -We arrived at the hotel and walked down a few stairs to get to the hotel reception. The view was unreal! -The check-in process was fairly simple! -After check-in the staff politely gave us a tour of the hotel. A perk of arriving to the hotel, you are given a welcome drink, we were asked if we wanted one and we said yes (because why not, vacation!), however it almost felt like we shouldn’t have asked because the bar tender needed to be chased down to make us a drink. However, it was a nice gesture to receive, just a bit uncomfy that it wasn’t prepared when we checked-in (as most other hotels do). Room/Accommodation: -Pictures attached for reference FYI -Upon walking into our room, we truthfully were shocked at the room setup. After looking at photos from the hotels website, it absolutely did not look like the photos. -You are given champagne and dried fruit (interesting, but appreciate the gesture) -The room felt nothing like a “5-star” hotel room. It felt like a college dorm with the furniture that was chosen. I kid you not, the bed is a circular shape, with no back board, there’s a small flat screen tv (maybe 32 inches), there’s plastic looking furniture throughout. Again, not trying to be nit picky, however, this felt like a holiday inn vs a 5-star hotel room. -It was noted that the outside jacuzzi is a “hot tub”, but let me assure you, it was ice cold. We actually bought a thermometer and the temperature was 72°F, we notified that it was not heated many times. The tile was also chipped and not in great shape. Lastly, the jacuzzi jets did not work upon arriving, after letting staff know, the jets would only stay on for ~15 seconds and then turn back off. (more on all of this later.) -We were told by staff when we entered the room to not set the temperature below 25°C…as of course did not abide because we were sweating. That definitely felt cheap to us, almost as they were trying to save money. Luggage Handling: -As we checked into the hotel, our bags were immediately taken by the staff to drop off at the room.
