Casa Verano Beach Hotel - Adults Only

Myself and a friend stayed for three nights in twin-bedded Room Gairaca. Our rate included breakfast. Pros: -Modern and clean premises. -Helpful, attentive, polite and English speaking staff. Hector was outstanding throughout our stay and is an absolute credit to the hotel company. -Free WiFi throughout hotel (logon provided at check-in). -Open-plan ground floor Lobby with seating areas. -Room ‘Gairaca’ twin bed room (1st floor). Keycard entry. Sliding doors cupboard with hanging space, shelves, electronic safe (free). Suitcase stand. Minibar fridge (contents chargeable). Wall-mounted Challenger TV. Small desk and plastic chair. Two single beds with bedside tables. Telephone. Mirror. Air-con. Tiled flooring. Front facing views of small garden and adjacent high rise apartment building. En-suite bathroom with shower. -Small outdoor pool & jacuzzi (open 9am-9pm) surrounded by palm trees and sun-loungers. Towels available. Pool bar. Hammocks. Exercise mats. -Immaculate gardens. -Access from rear of hotel to “semi-private” section of adjacent beach. Chairs and gazebo covers provided by hotel. -Beautiful sunsets - just a few footsteps from pool to beach. -Breakfast, ground floor 7:30-10am. Indoor and outdoor seating. Cons: -Hotel is 10 minute drive from Simón Bolívar International Airport (Santa Marta). -No lifts, although a staff member kindly carried our suitcases. -Room - only one keycard provided. -Room - more storage would be useful. -Checkout 12pm. Notes: -Yellow unmetered taxi from hotel: Zazue Plaza mall (10 minutes, 10,000-12,000 peso each way), Santa Marta (30 minutes, 30,000 pesos each way). Uber not available in this area of Colombia. -We used the Google Translate app (works offline) to translate Spanish-English. It was very useful as few people speak English. -I bought a Claro SIM card (Colombia) for my iPhone, which worked across the country. -There’s a small local convenience store (bodega) 2 minutes walk from the hotel. Turn right out of hotel gate, then first left in direction of main road. -In Santa Marta I visited Zazue Plaza mall (shops, restaurants, supermarket), Tayrona National Park, and Minca National Park.

We really loved this hotel. It just works. They serve a good breakfast from 7;30 to 10:00. They bring coffee and a plate of fruit and then you can choose between 4 or 5 breakfasts. It also comes with a glass of juice and its all included in the price of the hotel. You can also buy lunch and dinner and any drinks you want at the hotel bar. You simply charge everything to your room and tip at the end. Its so convenient when traveling with friends and not having to carry money around with you. The pool is not large but there was never a problem with being too crowded. We love that it was an adult only hotel. The beach is right outside the hotel. You go through a door and you are on a nice sandy beach and the hotel puts up tents for shade. The water seemed clean and while there were vendors selling various items it wasnt overwhelming. The airconditioning worked fine in the rooms and there were even hot showers. We had a room with the largest bed I have ever seen. The front desk staf was always available to help you arrange tours, call a taxi and so on. I really recommend this hotel. I can't imagine a nicer experience.

Totally blown away by this hotel. It was absolutely amazing to have this as our final stay after an amazing 3 weeks travelling around Colombia. To the owners, your staff are an absolute credit to you. Every single one of them were an absolute pleasure. Nothing was too much, ALWAYS a smile , just perfect. The decor in your boutique hotel was beautif, every single thing just fitted. To the owner and the family there , you must be very proud. Loved every single minute there. Special mention to the cooks.... Wow, to produce such wonderful meals and still manage a beautiful smile every single time we met.... just the perfect retreat. THANK YOU 😊

I had a very nice stay at Casa Verano. They were able to organize a pick up from the airport, which was less than 15 minutes from the hotel. Arriving at Casa Verano, the receptionist, Hector, was so friendly and made such I felt welcome. Hector was very helpful in learning more about the trek I was taking starting the following day and answered my many questions, which was so appreciative. The room was small, but clean. The hotel was able to organize a pick up the following morning to head out on the trek and prepared a breakfast to go for me. The pool was quite dreamy and getting to hang out in the hammock with the warm breeze at night!

Small boutique hotel on the beach, quite, adults only, staff was exceptional, food was very tasty couple times we stayed for dinner.

You can tell the people who work here really care. The attention to the details is amazing and you're treated as special from the moment you arrive. The landscaping and decor is finely detailed, giving the feel of a royal garden. The photos do not do it justice. The food is wonderfully prepared from fresh local ingredients. I cannot say enough good things about this place. The sun sets over their private beachfront! We WILL be coming back. You should too.

Stayed at Casa Verano with my husband over a weekend. The grounds are immaculate, the service and the food are excellent and the location of the hotel makes it easy to get to most places nearby. The rooms are small but we didn’t really spent much time inside anyway. If you’re looking for a loud party environment this place isn’t for you. But if you’re looking for an affordable, relaxing experience, I highly recommend Casa Verano.

This 11 room boutique hotel is perfect for those looking for a more personal approach to hoteling. The staff are lovely, always available, but also give you your space. And the gorgeous beach is literally right outside the property door to the beach with stunning evening sunsets. As a single female traveller, I felt extremely safe and well taken care of.
