This hotel is amazing! The staff is fantastic, the location perfect and the food delicious. My wife and I had the best week. Big thanks to all the staff. We hope to visit this hotel again, maybe in the summer or next year. Ci vediamo presto! ciao

Amazing hotel, EXCELLENT FOOD, EXCELLENT ROOMS, amazing views, but get ready- lights are off in the lounge before 23:00 so having an after dinner drink seems almost impossible. I wish the lady who was in charge of the bar was more hospitable towards the guests that don’t want to go to bed early. Other than that, the staff was great and super helpful. And listen to the wine recommendations- always worth it!

one of the best weeks ever! literally everything was perfect - location, beds, quality & variety of food, but most of all the people! Cristina and her staff are just about the nicest, friendliest, genuine and helpful people I've come across in any hotel. when you figure in the very reasonable prices, it can be rated as one of the great finds in the entire Alps. I will definitely find an excuse to come back. Bellissimo!!!

We came a long way for a ski vacation in the Dolomite Mountains and we chose the Alpine Hotel GRAN FODÁ as our base. The location of the hotel is just perfect in terms of both the incredible breathtaking scenery and views around as well as the proximity to the Ruis cable car which takes the skiers up to the Kronplats ski resort. The hotel is located few kilometers above the village of San Vigilio di Marebbe, in South Tyrol, Italy of course. The hotel itself is a new hotel with beautiful modern style and it is noticeable that the owner thought of every detail. The hotel is clean and tidy all over. Our room was spacious, very cosy, very clean and the ski room was just across the hall. The hotel stuff and among them Cristina the owner, Anuk, Angelo were all very friendly, inviting and they work hard to make our stay pleasant. Dinner is very varied rich with 5 courses chef meal. Every day is a different surprise worth waiting for. Vegetables are always served. Breakfast is very rich and the dining room is beautifully decorated watching directly to the enormous mountains through huge panorama windows. We loved it. We are so happy that we chose that hotel, we had the best ski vacation and we would love to come back.

A beautiful Hotel, Lots of wood glass, great views of the mountains and Milky Way. The room was beautifully decorated in gray and beige tones, lovely material, beds were really comfortable. Bathroom New and very clean. All amenities available. We ate half- board and the dinner was delicious and table set beautifully. Wonderful wine card, priced fairly, dessert was amazing. We walked to the cable car up to Corones. UNFORTUNATELY no discount for the ride. Plentiful parking, cool e-bikes available. A bit isolated but very nice and accomodating hosts.. great service,, nice library and info brochures to help get to know the region.. would gladly go back for a special treat.

THANK YOU to Christina and the team! This is our second time in Gran Foda and we had again the greatest stay. This is our favorite place in the Dolomites. The service is fantastic, same staff as couple of years ago, and they still remember us. Super careful and accommodating, with focus on the client's needs and experience. The food is first class, different menus and selection every day - great pleasure to enjoy. The hotel is super comfortable, small and cozy. Great attention to detail. Cleaning everyday. The views are amazing and it has the greatest atmosphere. For skiers it's great, literally on the slopes, in-and-out, close to everything. Easy to reach by car. Thank you and look forward to coming back next year!

Trotz seiner exzellenten Lage war unser Aufenthalt in diesem Hotel eine herbe Enttäuschung. Auf den letzten Metern unserer 700 km langen Anreise bauten wir aufgrund der unausreichend geräumten und gestreuten Einfahrt des Hotels einen Autounfall - und wir haben ein Allrad! Der Manager hatte uns zuvor angewiesen, genau vor dem Eingang zu parken, ohne zu erwähnen, dass dies das steilste und am schlechtesten geräumte Stück der Anlage war. Trotz des Neuschnees, der selbstverständlich besondere Vorsichtsmaßnahmen erfordert, insbesondere bei mehreren Anreisen an diesem Tag, wurde die Sicherheit der Gäste offensichtlich nicht gewährleistet. Unser Fahrzeug rutschte unkontrolliert den Hang hinunter und wurde erst durch ein anderes Auto gestoppt, ein Missgeschick, das, wie wir erfuhren, auch anderen Gästen widerfuhr. Das Frühstücksangebot war durchschnittlich: Aufbackbrötchen, Saft aus dem Kanister, wenn auch der Käse von guter Qualität war. Die Abreise gestaltete sich ähnlich problematisch wie die Anreise; beim Ausparken kamen wir erneut ins Rutschen. Ein Mitarbeiter des Hotels bot seine Hilfe an, war jedoch wenig zuversichtlich und der sogenannte Manager verweigerte uns sogar Streugut, mit der Begründung, er hätte nur Salz, welches auf Eis nicht hilfreich sei. Eine längere Diskussion führte zu keinem Ergebnis. Zu unserem Erstaunen war ab der Auffahrt zur öffentlichen Straße alles ordentlich geräumt – im krassen Gegensatz zu den Verhältnissen auf dem Hotelgelände, das offensichtlich nicht über die nötige Ausrüstung zum Schneeräumen verfügt. Dieser Aufenthalt war nicht nur enttäuschend, sondern aufgrund der Nachlässigkeit des Hotels bezüglich der Sicherheit auch höchst riskant. Ich kann nur dringend davon abraten, hier zu übernachten.

Das Hotel ist nach wie vor sehr schön, aber nach dem Besitzerwechsel hat es uns nun nach einigen Jahren als Stammgäste verloren. Liebloses Frühstück, welches kaum Auswahl aufwies, Abendessen fast jeden Abend kalt. Personal überfordert, Hotelführung geht auf normale Kundenwünsche nicht ein und ist sehr unflexibel. Beispiel : Aperol gibt es nicht, da der Hotelleiter das Getränk ungesund findet….Rührei kann man mit Kräutern nicht bestellen, da keine vorhanden ?! Bier konnte man nicht bestellen, da keins mehr da war. Auf die Frage ob man vielleicht mal eine andere Musik hören könnte als 6 Tage Dauerschleife Jazz, kam die Antwort das sei nicht möglich das gehöre so zum Hotelkonzept. Wir waren insgesamt zu 9 Personen, nun das letzte mal. Wir sind mehr als enttäuscht

Das Hotel besticht durch eine beeindruckende Lage mit herrlichem Blick auf das grandiose Dolomitenpanorama. So sind wir morgens in unserem schönen Zimmer mit Ausblick und großem Balkon aufgewacht. Wir haben eine herrliche Woche in der Sonne Südtirols verbracht. Bereits der Empfang war sehr herzlich. Da wir staubedingt etwas Verspätung hatten, hat uns ein freundlicher Mitarbeiter im Auto angerufen und die Ankunft erfragt. So blieb die Küche etwas länger geöffnet und wir bekamen nach dem Anfahrtsstress noch ein schönes Abendessen. Ein guter Start. Insgesamt können wir die Erfahrungen anderer Reisender nicht bestätigen. Das Essen war ausgezeichnet, abwechslungsreich und unsere Wünsche wurden vom sehr freundlichen Team rasch erfüllt. Vielleicht musste sich nach dem Besitzerwechsel in der Küche erst alles einspielen. Allein die Weinkarte und die Weinvorräte könnten ergänzt/ aufgefüllt werden, aber wir haben trotzdem stets einen leckeren Wein gefunden. Toll ist die für ein 3-Sterne-Hotel ungewöhnlich schöne Ausstattung des Hotels mit viel Holz, extremer Sauberkeit und auch die Zimmergröße war sehr angenehm. Prima ist die herrliche Panoramaterrasse, wo nachmittags leckere Drinks und Kuchen ( dieser kostenlos) angeboten wurden. Zum Skifahren ist es optimal. Direkt vom Skiraum auf die Piste. Mittags konnten wir rasch von Ski auf Snowboard wechseln. Perfekt! Alles in allem eine herrliche Skiwoche. Danke an das gesamte Team !
