Wecamp San Sebastián

I was calling to the hotel reception many times to inform I made a mistake in the booking dates and nobody picked up the phone. I realized about this after the free cancellation period I know, but it's very sad not to find a solution considering is high season and they could have rent my room to other customers and I can have the money back to change the dates. I lost the money 😭.

Merece la pena muchísimo ir a este camping. Las instalaciones amplias, buena distribución, piscina, bar restaurante con raciones desayunos y demás, atención de recepción con ayuda, y lo mejor las casas (yo cogí una de pareja) están súper cuidadas, al detalle, y limpieza absoluta. Si tenéis pensado ir a San Sebastián no lo dudéis. Además nosotros fuimos sin coche y el autobús al centro a San Sebastián es el 16 que para justo al lado y rápido. Así que genial!

We arrived at the site in our twin axle 8.3m motor home. It states that twin axles are welcome. We were allocated pitch G23,however although this was advertised as a 70m2 pitch there was a well established tree right in the middle. We asked for a different pitch and were told the site was fully booked. There were clear larger gravelled pitches empty. We asked if we could change to G22 and reception agreed. Again another well established tree on the pitch but slightly over to the side. We had to manoeuvre and reverse on to the pitch opposite us to get on. The pitch was very wet and muddy but we asked one of the staff putting gravel around if he could put some on ours, which he did. The access roads are very narrow. We paid for 3 nights ( most we have paid all holiday @ £40 per night) and when it came to leaving we had to ask the newly placed van opposite to move off their pitch so we could get out. Hedges need trimming, no hand wash facilities in toilet areas. Some pitches on slopes very uneven. Would not stay here again. Definitely would not recommend it. It is not suitable for motorhomes and definitely not twin axle ones.

Was very concerned having seen the bad reviews on here, especially as travelling with small children. However we were quite impressed and left happy. The location is great, with a regular air conditioned bus every 20 mins. The staff were very friendly, and the facilities were all new. The swimming pool was good, and the bar / restaurant. The busy road is closed off by a newish fence so wasn’t concerned about the children’s safety. My only negatives were that the pitches were very small, could just fit our caravan and awning on, but there is a car park just across the road (less than 1 minutes walk). The other negative was the cockerel that started about 3am, however if we turned our fans on in caravan this would cover the noise up. In summary, we would definitely stay here again, San Sebastián was amazing and felt like Rio de Janerio, spot on beaches and good surf, the kids played all day. Because the site is so close you have to expect it to have small pitches, and they can’t help it if neighbours keep animals. I think a lot of the buildings seemed to be recently refurbished too, it was all good.

Just stayed here for 2 nights. The staff and receptionist were very friendly and helpful. The bathrooms were very clean and the WiFi was top notch. The camp store has everything we needed but was small. They had fresh croissants daily! The pool was fantastic and perfect for a hot summer day. The pitch was quite small and a little muddy for our motorhome but we made it work. Just took a few back and forths. Our neighbor took 1 hour just to leave their site with their small camper. The house next door to I believe campsite number 64 has at least 2 annoying barking dogs. The restaurant was open until midnight and served amazing food. I had the squid ink paella. By far the best camp site restaurant I have ever been to. We took the bus to town. Super easy and took Apple Pay. This place would be 5 star with bigger pitches. But you can’t have it all. It’s San Sebastián!

An awful receptionist, rude, ignorant, ended up double charged, took 2 days to get a refund. We were in a 7 mtr motorhome, the pitch was too small on length, sticking out into road. A tree a third into the pitch. Awful, wet ground, hedges all round. Restaurant was lovely, good service and food. I would never go back.

This place is a joke! We paid extra for a premium pitch, stated also that our van was nearly 7m in length. Arrived at reception to a massive queue of which moved very slowly as the receptionist was alone (dark curly haired lady who was more than helpful) Eventually when I got the front, we were given pitch 81, then manoeuvred past reception from the car park, through a crowded gate with cars piling up, through low trees etc, there was someone already on our pitch. This was a huge inconvenience and also because the van is so big we immediately could see that we were not going to fit here anyway, and it was far from ‘premium @ a cost of over €55!! The nice receptionist explained that upon booking through WECAMP they don’t receive information regarding van lengths etc hence why there’s so much commotion and disruption at reception. 4 people came back in the time I was waiting to complain! We were put into what I can describe as a field across the road with the other large Motorhomes. Electricity was limited as there’s one board with 6-9 plug points so make sure your lead is long!! Waste for the chemical toilets is right beside fresh water points. Toilets and shower blocks were literally half a mile away front the field. With no soap or anything available after the toilet! The place was a real joke for what the description says. We have emailed requesting a full refund as the description does not match the site, not one little bit.

We booked a suitable camper van pitch ( requested a level pitch in a quiet location) we were given pitch 26. It was far from level ( very steep) with two obstructions on the pitch, a large concrete slab and also a services cover (sewerage/drainage ?) The large tree on the pitch also took up a large space making positioning my van very difficult. The roof of my van was touching the tree, there was no room to position my van any further from the tree mainly because of the service cover and concrete slab. The pitch was far from quiet as it was at the main junction of the campsite roads, near to the campsite access gate ( loud banging noise each time it was used) and above all of that we were only 3 metres from the busy road with traffic at all hours. I know there are better pitches lower down on the site, these were not offered. I was unable to move pitches as the site was full. I recommend you do not have a pitch adjacent to the road as the constant traffic is very noisy! Choose a pitch wisely! My overall experience was very disappointing, that said the site has great potential as it has a very good restaurant on site and a €2 bus into Donastia San Sebastián. I did receive a partial refund but only when I emailed the We camp CEO, the site management didn’t respond directly to my observations ( sorry for the inconvenience was the response)

This is probably the worst/most expensive rip off site ever. We booked via pitchup a site for a 6.5 campervan with electric and a gazebo. When we arrived the came out with some rubbish about us not booking the correct pitch (even though it clearly states on our confirmation what we booked. It was supposed to be a gravel site. They shoved on what can only be described as a glorified muddy field along with about 40 other vans/motorhomes. The pitches were so small that you couldn’t even put a chair outside your door to sit outside. No toilets or showers on there either. To get to the showers and toilets you had to leave our site and go onto the site that we should have been on. For almost €60 a night it was absolutely disgraceful. False advertising at its best. If you book here and they say you’ve not booked properly then move on. Don’t let them have your hard earned money to stay on what was a muddy wet mess.
