The hotel was perfectly located for walking around all over Old San Juan. The place really has character, bringing out its historical setting while providing modern conveniences. The desk clerks were pleasant and helpful.
Regrettably, like many facilities in recent years, daily housekeeping has been dropped, which is troubling in a place where toilet paper must be discarded in the wastebasket, rather than flushed. We left the placard on the doorknob, requesting maid service, but it had no effect. Regardless, the room was clean when we arrived.

Excellent location for exploring old San Juan while staying in a historical hotel. Even has a nice shared kitchen area. We stayed at the economy room without windows, which was sufficient. Room&bathroom is renovated and ac works great. You can always sit in the lounge area if room feels small. Only complaint is noises are easily heard through walls. The economy room was close to reception so you can hear people coming late at night etc. Overall, it was a great stay

I researched this hotel a lot so knew what we were going into. If you dont want to park a few blocks away & walk this is not the hotel for you. If you dont mind then book this place & if budget allows i highly recommend the presidential suite. Beautiful, well kept and an amazing view.

We arrived about 1am (as communicated to the hotel via phone well in advance of our reservation and the day of checkin). When we arrived we were given a room. We got to our room, unpacked what we needed for our 2 night stay and went to sleep. In the morning, we were texted and told they gave us the wrong room and we needed to move, but per them we couldnt move until 11 or 12 and we had to move by 3pm (even though our preference was to stay in the room we were in). So we had to pack back up and then wait to move our suitcases which was very disruptive to our 1 full day we had to visit Old San Juan.

Wonderful central location in Old San Juan. Within walking distance of anything you want to do in Old San Juan. Suggest that you don't drive in Old Juan unless you want to waste your day sitting in traffic and are really good at parallel parking.
This hotel was a good value but not quiet... You can hear everything going on in the hallway. Water temp in the shower was hard to control. But those are my only complaints. I would stay there again.

Gorgeous room with tall ceilings, arches and solid elegant furniture. Very comfortable beds. We stayed in the Fortaleza suite with kitchen and dining room. Loved having the terrace to watch the lit up street below. I really appreciated the great service. They let us keep bags locked away after checkout so we could walk around more before heading to the airport and returned a ring I accidentally left in the room. It was a super cozy and lovely place to stay over the Christmas holiday. Thank you!!!
