We arrived at son bou apartment in Sept 23. We were greeted by a grumpy woman on reception, ( probably tired, understandable), not a problem. We went to our apartment in zone 3, when we arrived it looked extremely nice, until we opened the door, it looked very dated. But that was not a problem we could get by that. After sorting our clothes out and bits and pieces, my wife realised there was no hairdryer in the apartment. I went down to reception and asked if they had one, yes they did and I had to leave a 10euros deposit, again understandable. We settled in that evening, with the chickens and roosters 🐓 coming up to visit. They continued walking around the appartments freely, no problem at all. The following morning we got up and went out for breakfast and returned around midday. On our arrival we entered the apartment and noticed some of our things had been moved. I noticed 2 x Jack & Jones t shirts of mine had gone, and the old hairdryer that we borrowed from the reception the previous day. I immediately went to my drawers to make sure they had not been in there, as under my clothes there was a travel iron in a box with cash, in an envelope beneath the iron. It was still there so I was relieved until I found £150 sterling had been taken and the rest replaced. At this point I was absolutely furious . I had already that morning received some heartbreaking news from back home, this was the icing on the cake. We decided to start packing and come back home. I confronted the young guy on reception, explained everything but then went into, ( I don't understand English) . I gave the key back and left on the theory we were coming home. I complained via email to son bou office and all I got back was, nothing has been reported to us and can we prove it. How can you prove you had money in an envelope and 2 x t-shirts missing. Also who would want to take the old hairdryer that belonged to the hotel. Nothing had been broken to gain entry into our apartment, so a key had been used. After several emails passing between us, all they were asking for was evidence. We decided to book elsewhere on the island to try to enjoy as best as we could our holiday. All I can say is avoid like the plague SON BOU APARTMENTS.
