Nicely refurbished older hotel in a fantastic location. We picked a small room, but it was fine. Clean, with a beautiful old brick wall. Great staff - both at the hotel and at Perry’s, their restaurant.

Amazing helpful staff! Great location with proximity to the city main transportation system. The room was cozy clean and very quiet. Like the choice of morning breakfast too!

The staff was personable. The location was very convenient. The price was unbeatable. The cleanliness and newness of the place was good. I normally like to go exploring new places to stay, but this was such a comfortable place that I plan on rebooking if I get to visit San Francisco waterfront again.

I would love to rate the room itself, however upon trying to check in we were informed at nearly 10 pm that our room wasnt available due to a plumbing issue. Frustrating because check in was supposed to be available at 4 pm and there was no correspondence from the hotel that there was a major issue 6 hours prior to us arriving. Leaving us no time to find a new place to stay. Upon arriving, and them informing us our room wouldnt be available and that they had no other rooms available, they let us know they had a room available at their sister property, the king james. I looked up the hotel they were trying to give us as an even exchange and the rooms at the king james are aweful, nasty old rooms. Also, those rooms were available online for 1 quarter the price of the original reservation at the Griffon i had. When i asked if there would be a partial payback since there was a drastic difference in price they said no. And to be honest, i wouldnt have stayed at the king james anyway, its disgusting and in a terrible area. We then asked for a complete refund of the room price so we could search for a new place to stay. They told us they couldnt refund the money, because there were no managers on site! Ridiculous. What business that is having a major plumbing issue doesnt have anyone on site with authority to handle the issue, or at minimum being available to their employees to handle the issue. They kept my money and didnt have a room. Never book here

It has the makings of a near boutique hotel. I loved the comfy bed. In room coffee pods were great. But after first 2 days they never replaced them! Had to leave hotel early 6 AM without coffee. Convenient location for Embercardero walk & business in financial district. Very comfy bed!

Great choice for the budget-minded traveler who wants to stay in the Embarcedero area. Small, but clean rooms in a great area. Be sure to plan your stay to catch the Saturday farmers market across the street from the hotel at the Terminal Building.

Original reservation was a Deluxe King size room city view. Upon arrival we got a small room with a king size bed, view was the building across the street. Reception was nice, enough. Parking was not available at hotel, and we had to go across the street, and we had to play $76 for the day. At night while sleeping we were woken up to the noise of mice scratching the basket of hand towels under the sink. It was a mice! We slammed the floor with a shoe to scare it away and we weren’t able to sleep after that. We left first thing in the morning. We were definitely not expecting that experience.
