There seem to be inconsistency in the check-in process, we arrived about 30 mins before 3pm and my Asian family of 4 was advised our room is not ready. Another caucasian family of 4 arrived 5 minutes later and they were able to check-in immediately. When I asked the counter why we had to wait while the other family did not, the counter officer attitude was nonchalant and impatient. It's only after I insisted we be treated equally that the counter staff made a call to the room service team to expedite. And the room was ready after just 5 minutes. I would have expected a hotel of such good repute to have better trained and customer centric staff that treats all customers equally and not make them feel discriminated against. I was in Europe for 3 weeks and this is the only hotel that left such a bad impression. Only plus point from our stay is that the location is close to the main train station and general cleanliness. And strangely for a business centric hotel, the room have a lack of power sockets.
