Penrhiw Priory

We stayed at the Twr y Felin Hotel previously on a couple of occasions and noticed that they had a sister hotel the Penrhiw Hotel so decided to give it a go as we liked the other. We were not disappointed, the hotel as it isn’t your typical hotel as it isn’t staffed all the time it is more like having your own apartment within a hotel. The grounds are fantastic, nicely kept and full of wildlife. The parking is adequate and the hotel is around the same distance to St David’s as its bigger brother. Even though there is no cooked breakfast on site (you can pay £5 more pp and eat at the other hotel) the continental breakfast was more than adequate and extremely fresh. For us this was the ideal hotel, lovely big clean rooms and a great base to get around Pembrokeshire. Will definitely be back.

We were extremely impressed with Penrhiw Hotel. Booked to celebrate a big birthday in peace, it was perfect! The hotel is both historical yet stylishly modern. Simple, high quality decor with many extras provided. The room (Garden) has a super king four poster bed which was incredibly comfortable. The room had a seating are curtained off which was quirky and cosy. A fridge full of water, milk and a bottle of birthday Presecco was present, along with a coffe pod machine, kettle and teas &hot chocolate, and Aberffraw biscuits A charging station, radio and tv were also in the room. The bathroon was just as stylish and of the highest spec. This bathroom was fitted with a large walk-in shower. The ambience was peaceful, and the lack of staff was no bother at all, if anything it made it feel more homely. There were staff in the morning providing a buffet breakfast and hot drinks. This breakfast was of the highest quality, absolout perfection. They staff were polite and suble in their service adding to the relaxed ambience. We loved it so much and although we left today, are planning to retun as soon as we can.

Few days of sheer relaxation in the most beautiful hotel in a great location just on edge of St David's. Attentative staff who made our stay so enjoyable.,very welcoming and helpful. We stayed in Valleys room at back of hotel overlooking the garden with wild rabbits to entertain. The room was spacious with both shower and separate bath,luxury bath products We had a slight issue with bath,which was quickly remedied by maintenance staff. The bed was very comfortable, welcome after day's walk on coastal path. Good choice of continental breakfast at Penrhiw Priory,we had cooked option at sister hotel once during our stay(£5 extra). The hotel is situated about a 15 min walk from centre of St David's or 5 min drive. The hotel provide umbrellas and torches if needed. Overall,this is one of best boutique hotels we have ever stayed in.

More of a 4.5 really. Minor niggles only. Cleaning had missed a massive cobweb, the window leaked (it was pouring) and the toiletries in the shower ran out/were running very low so probably hadn’t been checked, Umbrellas for guest use were a nice touch and the lady serving at breakfast had a high level of engagement with guests. I’d go back.

We only spent two nights as part of our road trip in Wales. We loved the building the moment we got there, felt really special. Our room had views to the garden, where you could easily see rabbits wondering around. It was very confortable over all, with all the amenities one might need. We also used the main living room in the evening to watch 'Bridgerton', which was a nice plus. Only thing we didn't love was breakfast, we found it quite average and not worth of the hotel. Other than that, very recommendable.

This is the second time we have stayed at the Penrhiw Hotel and it continues to delight. It is located in incredibly beautiful and peaceful countryside just a few minutes walk from St David’s. Everything in the building and the rooms has been very carefully thought through including displays of some lovely artwork. We stayed in the Meadow Suite which included its own generously sized sitting room and a little patio area and garden outside. It made for a perfect place to relax after walking the coastal path nearby or swimming in Whitesands beach just two miles walk away. The staff were very welcoming, kind and helpful. We were sad to leave our little retreat but we will be back!
