We enjoyed our stay here. Only 4 stars cuz the hot tub jets were not working nor was the phone in our room. So we had to walk down to the front desk with questions instead of being able to call.

Hotel is undergoing renovations. This did not disrupt our stay and our room was very nice. The hotel staff were extremely nice, especially Rhonda who helped us with a difficult situation. She is a credit to the organization.

I believe we got a good rate on this hotel because it was under renovations. And because it was under renovation, there was a little dust or random bits of drywall in the hallways, as you’d expect. But the noise from the renovation was not bad, the construction workers were super respectful and I think they were nearly done when we were there late February. Because it was under construction, the sauna and steam room were not open. The hot in was also out of service one day but in service the next. Given the proximity to the beach and the very nice rooms and delicious onsite restaurant, I expect we’d pay a lot more next visit. The staff was helpful and kind, and parking was a breeze. When Reno is complete, this property will easily get five star ratings across the board.

The cell reception was lousy. We had no WIFI service in our room. We couldn't use text messaging or the phone a majority of our stay. When we did have service, it was very weak and inconsistent. If it had been a working vacation, I wouldn't have been able to use this facility. The desk blamed it on renovations, for the whole week. Also, the spa needs a new hydro pump. Very weak flow from the jets.
The staff was pleasant, helpful and busy. I believe they are understaffed.

The hotel was lovely. Having some updating, but did not affect our stay much. The day clerks were just wonderful and very helpful. Could not ask for nicer service. Had an air conditioning problem on the 2nd night, but after we checked out all was taken care of. The area around Castillo Real Resort was just great. Restaurants were so close, walking distance for some. And the best food. We felt safe in that area. And had a room with a balcony with a view of the ocean. Doesn’t get much better then that.

Absolutely amazing hotel the staff were super friendly. The restaurant smells so Devine when you first walk in the lobby. Bathrooms are remarkably clean and very spacious shower.
