The Santa Holidays Village hotel is great for families.
Be careful with the reservations you make on Trip, we reserved a chalet for 2 adults and 2 children, arriving for check-in we were told that Trip only reserved for two adults and therefore the children must be paid extra.
It is not serious for TRIP not to communicate the true price upon reservation. This site lacks transparency (it just notes a remark saying that additional fees may be charged by the hotel for children without telling you how much and especially without telling you that they have only booked for two people). So the worst thing is to have a room that is not even suitable for a family.
At Santa Claus we had to pay 30€/night per child (fortunately we had booked a chalet so it was big enough for 4).
We had the same experience in another hotel over the same period (apukka resort) which charged us €100 per night per child in an igloo, fortunately the igloo allocated to us could accommodate 2 children otherwise we would have been without the possibility of accommodating 4 of us.

The hotel is very beautiful~ There is a window on the second floor of the room facing the forest, which is very photogenic. The room is very big. The family is very comfortable to stay~ The two elk are very cute and the children like it very much. The hotel has skateboards and the children have a lot of fun.

The room is very good, and guests who stay here are given a free set meal for dinner. We were lucky enough to see the aurora during our three-day stay, especially on the last night. When the aurora was strongest at around 2 o'clock in the middle of the night, the hotel would provide a message to remind us.

The hotel is located on the mountain east of the city. The environment is very quiet. It overlooks the Kemi River. The hotel is well decorated and feels very petty. The hotel has a rooftop, which is suitable for driving the aurora. There is a ski resort next to it. Convenient. If you rent ski equipment, you still need to go down to the mountain. The hotel’s breakfast is exquisite. I also had reindeer liver sauce. The hotel’s restaurant requires advance reservations and the dishes are very good. The disadvantage of the hotel is that the location is relatively remote, it is not convenient if it is not for self-driving. Extra bed and breakfast for children will be charged 35 Euros. The hotel does not provide slippers and toothbrushes.

The hotel room is not very big and the bathroom is a bit crowded. It can be seen that the decoration has been for a long time, but the health is very very clean. All staff are great. The breakfast is also great. I also prepared a lot of guide information in Chinese to go to Santa Village by car. Very convenient from the airport to the hotel by bus 7 Euros like most European hotels do not provide free disposable slippers and toiletries

We stayed at Hawe Boutique for 4 nights. We booked into the Kota room which was ample for 2 people. I cannot recommend enough how we enjoyed staying here. The room has everything you need, a refrigerator full of food, milk, eggs, juice, meat, cheese, fruit, butter, jam/marmalade, chocolate, yoghurts and then cereal and bread, we unfortunately hardly touched it as we were out early and in late everyday. The bathroom has everything you will need, toothbrush/toothpaste, combs, shampoo/conditioner, shower gel, body lotion, shower caps, razer and cream, vanity pack, shoe polish!, hairdryer. The room was very clean with a comfy bed although the pillows were very soft. The only downside was that if you have an early flight you cannot get into your room until 4pm, storage downstairs for suitcases with key codes. Loved it here.

Check in was quick loved my room. Tub is awesome the bed was comfortable. Breakfast was great lots of options. The temperature in room was a bit cold. I spoke with front desk she said there was extra heaters. I declined it was just odd to me that room had no operating heat.

We are a family of 5 and booked 2 family rooms in this hotel. The rooms were big, compared to another Rovaniemi hotel that we stayed in and the amenities were wonderful. Free use of Sauna, 24hr gym, just located directed opposite the supermarket and most of all, the hotel has a microwave that you can heat up the food brought from the supermarket! What a deal!.
Some areas for improvement, it would good if the Sauna can be 24hrs instead of closing at 10pm. If the hotel can provide utensils like spoon and fork it will be even more awesome.
Overall our best stay in Rovaniemi for the price point, I think its a steal. Oh BTW, Burger King and McDonald is just opposite and 24hrs too.

The hotel is a 5 minute walk to the centre, it's a basic hotel which is clean, tidy and comfortable. Breakfast is more continental with 3 hot item available.
The only downside to the hotel is their is no safe in the rooms so had to carry all personal items laptop, money, passport etc around with me all the time.
The hotel did offer to put item in their own safe but decided against it.
It didn't put me off staying here again and would return.

GGuest UserPerfect stay! Arrived on my own and was collected promptly at the airport - was offered to stop at Lidl on the way to collect some groceries. The apartment is really spacious and super warm! The sauna is great; gets up to around 85-90°C. The apartment is located about a 10 minute drive from the city centre or Santa's Village. There is shopping about a 3-4 minute drive. Unless you've rented a car, I would suggest using the offered taxi service which is run by the company. Kitchen has everything you'd need; microwave, hob, oven, dishwasher, fridge, freezer. My only suggestion would be a couple more towels because between showers and saunas, you'd be finished with them very quickly!

The Nordic-style youth travel design is very beautiful. There is an elevator for people with large luggage.
The room is very large, the bed is very good to sleep.
The bathroom is big, but there is water.
The heating in the room feels very weak. It has been turned on to the strongest. 3 or it feels not warm enough.
The bathroom heater is no longer hot.
In this area below minus 10 degrees, the heater is weak? It's really cold in the middle of the night or in the morning.
Downstairs is the cafe
Breakfast is served in the cafe.
But it's really not cheap to ask for 11 euros a person
The hotel is very close to the bus stop to Santa Claus Village. It is not too far to drive to Santa Claus Village. The road to the airport is in the direction.
The bus schedule is actually a bit messy, it seems that many buses can go.
But it's just a different route.
There is an aurora group next door. It is very convenient to go there and book.

WWEISHENThe hotel is about an hour's drive from Rovaniemi. You can write to the hotel to arrange Taxi. You can make an appointment with the hotel front desk to shuttle to the Zoo, and the round trip is free.
A well-equipped glass house with its own sauna. The glass can be heated, and you can see the sky very clearly while lying in bed, and you can really experience watching the aurora in the glass house
The only disadvantage is that you need to drag your luggage to the glass house by yourself. It would be better if you can have someone or a car to check your luggage

MmarkvadeThe Arctic City Hotel was located in a prime spot, perfect to explore the city of Rovaniemi as well as reach the tour operators (our tour operator was Nordic Unique Travels, and they were right across the street). The room was fine, nothing special but had everything you needed, and the bed was quite comfortable. In a lot of other reviews you’ll read negative things about the shower, which we can indeed confirm: super small and water floods half of the bathroom, but then again: when you’re in Lapland, you won’t stay in your room that much anyways! The people who worked at Arctic City Hotel were all very nice, special shoutout to Diana from the front desk! We also had a great vegan dinner at Monterosa, a restaurant part of the hotel. Vegan breakfast was limited. We would highly recommend the hotel if you’re out and about during your stay, and just need a comfortable place to sleep!

667fygur19pWe were visiting Rovaniemi in july 2024. Stayed at Metsahirvas Hotel in Hirvas. Located 15 min by car south of Rovaniemi. Very nice room with toilet and shower. Rather small but comfy with waterheater and coffee or tea to enjoy. Very friendly staff. Hotel has a small restaurant that serves burgers and pizza. There is water,beers and wines. Ate a pizza with ground meat, smoked reindeermeat and lingonberries. That was recommended by the lady in the bar. It was VERY good and really tasty. Breakfast was quite good with homebaked bread and toasts and a selection of ham, salami, marmalades. Cereals in severeal kinds and also som lettuce and tomsto and cucumber..

EEThe Glass Igloo is small and not much space to open the luggage, however they have a very nice hot water shower which has around max. 25mins which you will be able to relax from whole day travel ☺️ . The location is not near airport, takes almost 40mins. shuttle bus from Santa Clause village to hotel. Though this location is really good for the chance of seeing Northern Lights ! We did ! Unluckily their ice bar and ice restaurant both under renovation and we don’t have chance to experience. That’s the downside of it.

CCoastal42233567068 I cannot fault the communications beforehand (high floor request met) the cleanliness and facilities of apartment 68 for our 4 night stay were brilliant as too the location. My choosing an apartment over a hotel was for the additional comforts. As a 2 guest apartment I have suggested 2 comfortable chairs or small sofa be provided as I personally do not enjoy lounging on a bed, but neither spending 4 nights on a dining chair! Sadly our discomfort did not end there as we were cold the entire time. The heating was on max and the bathroom was warm but not the living area. Contacting customer services I was told the overall heating was based on the outside temperature ( it was -19 ) and over 24hrs later a heater arrived which was totally inadequate, kept cutting out and having been warned not to leave it on whilst we slept I did not consider it safe. As we had returned late and were departing the next day we discarded it and ended up going to bed. I have seen other reviews where this has been an issue and would of considered it a relative easy fix. The exceedingly good review I could of given has been literally left out in the cold!!

RRenée.KWhen I went there, I didn't know that check-in was done at the front desk of Santa's Hotel, my sister hotel Santa Claus, so I had to walk for about 10 minutes.
