La Villa

We had such a lovely time at this beautiful colonial villa in Battambang. The villa is stunning, the rooms were massive and luxurious, we loved the history of the building and all the quirky details. The pool was an absolute dream after a hot day touring, we spent a lot of time soaking in there and enjoying the lush green grounds. The breakfast was a set menu with choices and was so delicious (omelettes were amazing). The staff were lovely and attentive. A great start to our two weeks in Cambodia.

I spent two nights at La Villa in December, 2023, and found it utterly charming! In addition to the delightful French architecture and lots of lush greenery, there’s a lovely pool and a very pleasant dining area with bar. Breakfast (served) included an array of options (the omelets were delicious) and the dinner I ate there was awesome. The hotel did not have a 24/7 desk; I didn’t find that problematic.

We are a family of 3, (2) over 65 and 34 year old daughter. We had a spacious room with three beds, a sitting + desk area and a large bathroom. We had plenty of space and were very comfortable. We ate breakfast in the restaurant all 3 mornings and had dinner twice. The food was excellent every meal and very reasonably priced (breakfast included). I heard monks chanting one morning in the reasonable distance (enjoyable, but they did not wake me up). We stayed on Chris**as weekend and there was a Chris**as festival set up on the street right outside of the hotel. Our taxi was able to navigate to the hotel easily through the crowd and the noise did not keep us up. It was an easy walk and tuktuk ride to everything we wanted to see/do. The hotel offers tours you can book for reasonable prices to the main attractions in Battambang.

Well located,lovely people, clean and good facilities and wonderfully a**ospheric. What more could you want ? A great base to explore the city and beyond its boundaries. I hope to be back and spend more time exploring the charm of Battambang.

Our stay at La Villa was great and we’re greeted with smiling faces as we arrived. The team was able to coordinate a GREAT tour of Battambang for us to give us a closer look at the city. Very comfy rooms with great breakfast and food as well. We would highly recommend this place to stay in Battambang

A very charming little hotel in a good location with very attentive staff. We loved our room in the first floor and the lovely pool. The security staff were very welcoming and we enjoyed chatting with them. If we ever return to Battambang, we will definitely stay at the Villa again!

Nice hotel with friendly staff and a lovely pool. They helped us with booking tours and rides. Also the hotel is in a charming French style house. Breakfast service was great, best Pineapple jam I ever had!

Travellers be carefull!! I have made a reservation through *********** but then realized that I inadvertendly selected the wrong date. I wrote to the site asking to change the date and received a reply saying that they were not receiving any response from the hotel it would have been my responsibility to contact the hotel and obtain the requested change…… So I did. I wrote several mails which have all been equally ignored. Finally I was alle to put the manager of the hotel on the phone who candidly acknowleged receipt of all my mails but instructed me that the online way to obtained the requested change was to cancel my booking reservation and made a new one directly with them (without using ***********). He also guaranteed that the cancellation fee would have not been applied as this was in fact a mere change of date. So i acted as instructed but the hotel never confirmed my new reservation and booking has charged me 65US cancellation fee. If you do not want to have the same horrid experience just select an alternative structure

I should just not review, but after seeing all the 5 stars, I just can’t believe anyone would like this place. We booked directly from Phnom Penh by phone. In PP we stayed at Rosewood, without a doubt the BEST experience of our long lives. We stayed at Park Hyatt in Siem Reap, another great experience. We read all the glowing reviews about La Villa and decided to give it a try. We had the misfortune to get room #8. If charm means filthy, then charming it was. We left the room intact and our baggage in the room. We trekked around Battambang for about an hour finding another room. The room we found wasn’t great, but we hightailed it out of La Villa and never looked back. The next day we returned to Phnom Penh to our luscious room at Rosewood for 15 days of bliss. I don’t want any harm to the owners, but the website and all those 5 star reviews are very misleading.
