What a strange hotel. Located on part of the fifth floor of an old, mixed-use building, it has the look and feel of a youth hostel. It’s accessible by an antique elevator that barely holds two people and requires you to haul your luggage up four or five steps to access it. Our room was tiny and sp**** with a “view” of an interior courtyard. The bed’s top sheet came with dried blood spots and the mattress cover under that was stained, with several long black hairs added for charm. The shower was decent and the breakfast was varied enough to send you out with a full stomach. This is one of those hotels about which you say, “Hey, we only need a bed, right?” It’s absolutely not a place where you want to relax and spend any time soaking up the ambience. It is not “steps away”’from any major historic sites as some descriptions we have read, unless you consider your daily quota of 10,000 steps to be “steps away. “ I you have a choice, choose something else.
