Sonder San Lorenzo

Among many with this place, the main problem is that the exterior of the property is covered in graffiti, on a block that has garbage strewn everywhere. The property said this is outside their control -- fair enough, much of Rome away from touristy areas looks the same -- but the issue is that the photo of the property exterior on the booking service doesn’t show an accurate depiction. The area is – to be blunt – ugly and the management has done nothing to restore defaced exterior (though neighbouring property, another short-term rental business, had a pristine exterior). Overall we felt deceived by the listing and that it was poor value for the price. Other issues include that the checkin time is very late (4pm) and there is an exorbitant charge for earlier checkin, even just for 90 mins early. The company's app and website signin was non-functional at the time of our stay, though communicating by email prompted an auto-reply directing you to the app or website. The app is required for everything, even just to get the info about the apartment, and I resented being forced to install an app to access info that should have been in the apartment. Kitchen is missing many basics like something to wash dishes with, or a cloth for wiping counters or a couple of tabs of dishwasher detergent, wine glasses, dish rack… There is a single outlet in the kitchen, so you have to unplug the microwave to plug in the kettle, etc. The sofa, which looked a bit beat up, was rock hard to sleep on. Found dust on surfaces throughout unit.

Our apartment was located in an excellent part of the city, not really far from the most georgeous views. We usually walked everywhere and the sights even on the way are breathtaking. The apartment was clean and overall very cozy, we had everything we needed there. Also, the Sonder team was aleays ready and quick to help with everything we needed. Everybody loved staying there. The only downside were louder neighbours who lived above us (them taking the stairs up to their apartment would wake everybody up, but it wasn’t anything tragic).

Very nice flat, very nice area next by the center with many shops and bars around for everything you need. Very good communication with the staff, very good value for money, we recommend Sonder San Lorenzo !! 10/10 What's more Roma is wonderfull city !

The unit I stayed need a few maintenance services, but nothing that will affect the stay, apart from that, staff lovely, place cleaned and very well located; will definitely stay there in a future opportunity!

The apartment is amazing, the neighborhood is good,whit a lot of bars and restaurante and all the employee who works so well. Marco, who help me with all my issues is amazing and Kind. Shonder should take care of Marco. I recommend this place as well.

Nice location, clean apartment, useful parking space and an exceptional (remote and app) customer service. Will definitely come back again when in Rome, and stay in other Sonder locations around the world.

Like: Clean room, spacious and good beds. Clean bathroom, and nice shower. Dishwasher and Microwave, both clean and works. Great fridge too, and dishes were all clean. Do not like: Room A shares a wall with the main street on the ground floor. Why is this an issue? Because the street is a tram line, and the tram runs just a little footpath from your bedroom wall - the whole floor and the bed vibrates through the night every time a tram runs! It is noisy - the tram stop is right our the door. Plus the entrance to the hotel is through a large, heavy iron door, which bangs shut on the bedroom wall every time a guest enters. It's loud, and very difficult to sleep. We asked for coffee pods when we checked in - did not get it for 4 days. Would have been a great stay if not for the fact that sleeping was hard (and I live in a city, so used to noise!!)

Neighborhood feel. Eclectic. Was far from tourist attractions. Learn transit system beforehand.

A great apartment with comfy beds, nicely decorated. The courtyard has separated areas outside each apartment - lovely spaces for relaxing with an evening drink. Travel into the city is easy once you know how...Walk a couple of hundred yards to Via Tiburtina and pick up the 71 bus towards Termini. Takes less than ten mins into the heart of Rome.
