The hotel follows the standard of comfort and excellence that is expected from an ibis. I closed the pool (because I was looking for a hotel in the center with a pool) when I arrived I was informed that the pool was of Novotel for a fee of 63 reals, which should be informed as well as the purchase of breakfast and parking.
I looked again on the site to see where it was written and I didn't find it, I was very disappointed because I could have closed another hotel with a similar value.
The team's care was wonderful, taking this disappointment we had a great stay.

I was hosted in this hotel last weekend - 02 to 03/07/2022. I have contacted me, and Mrs Vanessa has answered me, she kept the forgotten pieces, and the next day she sent me for Sedex with great delight and sympathy, and I would like to congratulate her on the sensitivity and empathy shown by that person. All the staff very careful and efficient.

Amazing hotel! Excellent location, next to the Museum of the Republic, close to bars, restaurants and the sensational shops of Catete.
Spacious room, with super comfortable bed and pillows. Very quiet and with efficient curtains, which guarantee a wonderful night's sleep!
I just thought the shower had a weak water outlet. And the hallway had a strong smell of cigarettes.
Very good pool, but unfortunately I couldn't use it because it was crowded.
Very good breakfast! Beautiful and cozy restaurant, with a huge variety of fruits, breads, juices, etc. To be perfect, the only thing missing was options for those who are lactose intolerant.

Nice hotel where the room I stayed in was a reasonable size where I consider it positive, the bathroom clean, good towels and with excellent shower, freezing and quiet air, closet with hangers and plenty of space to store belongings and as non-positive points, two beds together instead of the Queen offered and a lot of noise in the bathroom exhaust with the ceiling lamp flashing with faults.
Breakfast well served with scrambled eggs, juices, cakes, assorted breads, cold cuts, cereals among others, I missed a plate type appliance to warm up the breads or make a hot joint, but on average, very good breakfast.
Paid parking and having difficulty accessing the vehicle to pick up or leave belongings, because as the key stays with them, every time we need it, we have to call the person in charge.
Reception very hot, impossible to sit waiting for taxi or during check in or check out.
On average I recommend the hotel, do not expect general comfort and quality, but in cost benefit, it is even better than many equivalents.

Well located hotel. We were upgraded to a sea view room facing the sea. We should have had a side sea view. Only shame was that we had the antennas located on the roof of the building in front of the room's balcony. We nevertheless had a view of Rio (Botafogo), the Pao d Acucar, the beaches of Niterói, we were close to MAC (Museum of Contemporary Art)
After a very hot day, we really enjoyed the heated swimming pool with a jacuzzi.
Breakfast was very good.
I recommend this hotel.

O Hotel é ótimo! De fácil acesso e todos os funcionários foram extremamente gentis. Cheguei de madrugada e o serviço de quarto e restaurante 24h quebrou demais o galho, visto que tudo de delivery estava com o tempo de entrega bem elevado. A Acomodação é muito confortável e com espaço e utensílios que facilitam muito a estadia. Tivemos um pequeno problema com a tomada do microondas que não estava funcionando, mas prontamente ao comunicar a recepção o time de manutenção ajeitou enquanto estávamos fora. Foi tudo maravilhoso!

The breakfast is excellent, just as it says on the website, everything works perfectly in that hotel.
I don't give the facilities an excellent rating just because the gym doesn't have weight training machines, but it does have ones for aerobic exercises and lots of dumbbells. From the side rooms you can see the sea perfectly. I think that for those of us who like to walk around it is a bit far from shopping and gastronomic districts. But being there was a beautiful experience.

CColin HThis is one of the best IBIS hotels I have stayed in. It’s in a great position - just 100m from the Copacabana seafront and less from the nearest metro station. Beds are super comfy and showers fab. If you are a light sleeper, ask for a room on the side of the hotel. The view is nothing but its super quiet as it’s away from the road. There is a safe in each room. Staff are smiley and helpful. Breakfast is super yummy with lots of fresh fruit, yoghurt and the usual items. If you like English tea, however, bring your own tea bags as “tea” as we know it doesn’t seem to exist in Brazil. On the corner of the block, there is a 24hr cafe that serves great coffee. The area seems safe at night. The hotel also offers bike hire.

We stayed here the 2nd time after 12 years. Picked a similar room as we had 1st time: ocean view king suite. It is a bit more expensive than their cheapest rooms, but EXCELLENT value for money. We had room on the 12th floor directly overlooking the waves with two windows. As the hotel and beach is to the south, you get BOTH sunrise and sunset view from your room...see photos attached:) Room is good size, reasonably fresh with only a bit of age and spots here and there. Cleaning is ok, and hotel is in excellent safe area with direct beach access. We much prefer Barra da Tijuca anyway, against the overhyped and crowded, expensive copacabana. But each to his own. Hotel itself (lobby etc) is nice, staff is great, restaurant has very good food. The cocktails of their bar at ground floor as well as by the pool are excellent quality and cheap (as usual in Brazil). HOWEVER... a big however... After booking directly via their ”secure” website, via Amex card, my card details were either sold or re-used by somebody at the hotel staff, as BEFORE our actual trip began, it started being used at various (online?) shops in Sao Paulo, Belo Horizonte and even in Madrid. I had already a 600 euro hit (in some 10 different fraudulous shoppings) before i realized and blocked it. Lucky with Amex's good insurance policy i did not lose money directly on this, nevertheless i ended up with no Amex card on my 2-weeks Brazil trip as oi didnt have the new one yet, and in general it gave a bitter taste to this stay. Because of this i have to reduce the rating. So a word of advice: Book this hotel with confidence, BUT book it via a well-known room broker website, NOT directly thru the Windsor website!

I had quite high expectations as a European I know Novotel as a great hotel brand. But a check-in that takes about 20 minutes for every guest/couple is unacceptable. We arrived with three couples and it took an hour, also people waiting behind us. I also excuse the poor receptionist who had no help but was obviously not adequately taught how a check in works. Also, we arrived around 8pm and the bar is already closed as is the pool. And the room is old, things are broken and the bathroom is not very well cleaned. I worked in hotels myself and I know that quality looks different. Sorry for this rating, it is my first bad one on TripAdvisor.

Wonderful staff who allowed us to have a later check out for our flight. Super comfortable and lovely rooms. Swimming pool was lovely with the hot sun and the showers were amazing. There was a fire alarm in the middle of the night but the staff were really helpful and sorted it quickly and efficiently.

Excellent stay at the Novotel RJ Santos Dumont. The hotel staff was great. Very friendly, efficient, and professional. The hotel was clean, quiet, and well-maintained. The fitness center was well-equipped and available 24/7. I didn't get a chance to try the restaurant, so cannot comment on that aspect of the hotel. As the name implies, the hotel is convenient for Santos Dumont Airport. It is a fairly easy 5 minute walk from the hotel, mainly on a pedestrian bridge above a busy road. It is also about a 10 minute walk from the Rio Metro. The only negative, and not the hotel's fault, is that this part of Rio has a problem with homelessness and is fairly deserted after dark and on weekends. So, it might not be the best area to walk around at night. Again, not the hotel's fault, and it does have good security, but certainly a part of your stay.

GGuest UserThe hotel is very well located, on Av. Princesa Isabel, right after the tunnel, right where Leme beach ends and Copacabana beach begins. The service at reception was exceptional, friendly and helpful. Mr. Carlos, who checked me in, was helpful, offering us the possibility to get into the room earlier (1:00 pm, when the time would be 3:00 pm), and stored our bags at reception while we walked around the city waiting for the room to be released. The room I stayed in (a standard twin) was good, not too big, but not too tight either, two wide single beds, with new and clean sheets, but a mattress too soft for my taste (for one night, it wasn't a problem , but spending more nights sleeping on it would be complicated). Smart TV, but it couldn't connect to the internet, so it was limited to cable channels (good selection of movie and series channels). The bathroom is spacious, but the shower stall is tight and the water is not at a constant temperature, you have to keep adjusting it to warmer or colder. The whole room looked as if it was already in need of renovation, and the bathroom even more so, but everything was in good working order. The room I stayed in was a connecting room (end 15) and the noise from the neighbor when using the bathroom was quite loud, nothing that constantly bothered me, but it is something to watch out for; in another room, maybe it was smaller. We didn't use the leisure area on the roof, we just visited it. It's small, and the pool is pretty cramped, but the view is beautiful. We didn't get breakfast either, so I can't comment on the food. Anyway, for the amount I paid and to spend just one night, it was a good option, without luxuries. For a longer stay, perhaps a better room would do, or another hotel.

RRicardoHotel meets the basic requirements, but it is very well located, staff are very attentive, cleanliness is ok, I didn't use the pool, but it was very clean, the view from up there is beautiful.

DDavid Bbeach. Hotel looks good on first impression but on closer looking lobby is tired, sofas need cleaning. Rooms very very basic, covers so dated, doors shabby. There is strange sort of small lounge as you come in which doesn't serve any purpose. Curtains didn't meet, only two sockets worked. Air conditioning button seemed to have loose wires and you had to jiggle the switch about to get it working. The tv was a big old grey version (didn't think they were still used) only CNN channel. Breakfast not really good couldn't get a normal cup of tea. Not everyone likes flavoured. Asked for natural tea told didn't have any. Staff not very friendly asked if they could print boarding passes and told no system was done but clearly they were using it at the desk, concierge gentlemen were very nice. Just as well we only used it to sleep and shower but would not recommend this. Friends were in muc

NNicholasThis property has the potential to be amazing, but it needs a few key updates. The location is fabulous, the staff is excellent, and the restaurant is great both in terms of service and food quality.
The room was spacious, and the balcony was unbeatable. If you only speak English, you can get by staying here because all of the staff speak excellent English. We encountered a problem when the showerhead broke off, but the repairman came reasonably quickly to replace it, and he was very polite and not disruptive. We ordered room service, and Dom Rio, the hotel’s restaurant, delivered it quickly. I had the filet which was cooked properly to the correct temperature (medium rare). My fiancé had the alfredo pasta which she liked a lot. The breakfast had a huge selection, and everything tasted good.
The only thing keeping this hotel from earning top marks is the general state of much of the decor in the rooms. The curtains look shabby and dirty from moisture, and the wood of the cabinets is warped also. It is very hard to maintain a room that is constantly exposed to salt water and ocean breeze, but the materials chosen have not stood up to age.
I would recommend staying here if you are interested in staying in Barra at a nice but reasonably priced hotel, but don’t expect the finest luxury. Expect a very large, fairly clean room with a comfortable bed and an amazing view.
