positives: lovely modern hotel, well kept and staff are friendly and welcoming. mini fridge and other amenities in spacious room. hotel is greatly located close to centre and good value for money. strong internet for remote working.
negatives: club/karaoke bar underneath hotel which can be loud at night (friday/saturday) made the walls vibrate and caused a bad nights sleep.

Very nice hotel, friendly staff and very clean. Only negative is most tourists come here in the summer for the beautiful shorelines and amazing sea and the hotel should install a retractable laundry line in the bath/shower to hang the bathing suits and beach towels (which you must buy locally or bring yourself as the hotel does not supply them.) The buffet breakfast is utstanding. Now for the region of Rijeka, if you have toured Europe and many of its historical places, this industrial city that also caters to tourists (for the beautiful sea, shoreline, crystal clear waters and amazingblue skies) seriously needs to power wash every building as 95% of them have probably 70 years of industrial grime on them. This is sad because many of the really historic buildings are quite beautiful (not the communist block and industrial buildings, which unfortunately dominate this city. ) As for the gastro experience in Rijeka, truly outstanding food a d service every where you eat, from the pizza bars to fine dining. The people of Rijeka are truly pleasant and focused on being outstanding ambassadors for Croatia.

This hotel was an interesting experience. The rooms are tidy. They look a bit older, but they are very nice. The bathrooms are clean. The service is fantastic. You really feel welcome. And the breakfast is perfect. The parking is nice and safe, and the hotel's location is perfect.

One of the worst hotels with worst the front-of-house staff I have experienced. They were rude, disrespectful, and distrustful and it was clear that a guest checking in interfered with their social chat and was therefore not welcome. The hotel is a Grande Ole Dame but multiplugs should be easily reachable by the desk would be great. The room was spacious and clean. The (un) welcoming front office team at check-in spoiled the entire experience that I was looking forward to.

I have stayed at the Grand Hotel Bonavia numerous times a year since 2015. The staff are consummate professionals, engaging, courteous, helpful and knowledgeable. The location in unbeatable and the rooms are perfect for my needs. You are within easy walking distance of more than 30 bars and restaurants and you're in the middle of all that's happening in Rijeka. Iva Zigo (in charge of reservations), is a joy to work with, she's pleasant and helpful, very communicative and makes scheduling a breeze. This is the ONLY hotel I stay at in Rijeka and will continue to do so in the future. Thank you.

The hotel is in a great location of Rijeka. The rooms are in good condition and the staff is fine but I have to say that you can see the people is tired and unhappy. The breakfast is ok and the food is fresh. The price is avarage and the value is good.

Visit to my ancestral hometown in September had an excellent stay at the Bonavia? The hotel is impeccable , rooms are classic decoration with very comfortable bed and all the bath ameneties. Centrally located in the downtown core , walking distance to the old town, corso and the mololungo.. Breakfast was exceptional with everything you could want and super fresh top quality food and beverages. Very friendly front desk and bell staff, highly recommended !

I took a group of about 20 university academics to Hotel Bonavia Plava Laguna, Rijeka, for a couple of days in mid-September 2023. It is without doubt the best hotel in the city and the only choice if you want excellent service. The location is perfect, the building beautiful, the prices good value. My contact in the hotel sales department was Mr. Krešimir Poropat. The detailed and cordial attention he gave me both in the months beforehand, as I organised the trip, and during the trip itself, was beyond anything I have received anywhere else. He greeted me in person and dealt with everything immediately. The other hotel staff were also excellent, in helping my guests and organising and delivering catering of various kinds. I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough, especially if you are organising a group trip.
