Willance House Guest House

This is a superbly run guest house by Colin and Sandra. The location on a quiet street 200 yards from the main square was perfect. The accommodation is very comfortable and spotlessly clean. Breakfast was delicious. Wish we'd the time to stay longer. Highly recommend.

what an absolute little gem we have just stayed in. spotless clean, comfy bed. lovely breakfast made fresh each morning.perfect hosts. just a two minute walk to town centre.

Stayed here with my mam for a relaxing (pre-xmas) trip away together We were both made very welcome from the moment we arrived. Rooms were very clean with everything we needed. The breakfast was amazing with a lot of choice and a wide selection of different options. Whatever we chose was always cooked perfectly!! The house itself is absolutely beautiful!!lots of history and a warm cosy feel to it! The location is perfect for walking into town for all the local pubs and restaurants. This was our first visit to Richmond but we hope to return and book here again!

We stayed the night whilst visiting Richmond The room was immaculate, comfy bed and pillows, the breakfast was cooked fresh and delightful with plenty of choices . Both host were very warm and welcoming and took their time to talk to you and made you feel welcome . Will be calling back next time we visit Richmond Paul and Linda

What a beautiful grade 2 listed building, it's actually 2 cottages made into 1. Free parking opposite and only a 2 min walk in to the town centre. It has lovely exposed stonework and 2 fabulous wooden staircases, plus gorgeous fireplaces. We stayed for the Easter weekend and we're lucky enough to have fab weather. We had room 3 which was very quaint, exceptional clean and had a window seat with a lovely view, a great powerful shower and very hot water. Lots of lovely touches in the room, chocolate mints, cookies, tissues, flask of cold water, great tea and coffe tray. Big fluffy towels, face cloths and bath mats...you could also control the radiators yourself which we liked. There was a gorgeous fireplace in our room and a skylight to see the stars at night. Loved hearing the church bells ringing on a morning. Very safe and peaceful at night. Sandra was a lovely lady, very friendly and helpful...her husband Colin, who we didn't meet but was the chef in a morning, did the best poached eggs I have ever had, in fact the breakfast is one of the best too, so extensive and beautifully presented. Lots to do in Richmond, river walks, museums, The Castle and some great cafes and restaurants. We loved exploring all the little cobbled streets and some great independent shops. Cannot recommend this b and b enough, absolutely fantastic and cannot wait to stay again. We have stayed in accomodation all over the UK and can put hand on heart and say this is one of the best for cleanliness, hospitality, history, breakfast and location. Should be 5 stars. Thank you Sandra and Colin for a wonderful weekend away.

Absolutely the best place to stay. Spotlessly clean. Comfy bed and fantastic breakfasts. We return year after year which says it all ❤️ Nothing is too much trouble for Sandra and Colin who ensure your stay is of top quality.

This is a perfect place to stay in Richmond. If you like historic and quaint its the place for you. A very warm welcome after a days walking on the C2C, dirty boots straight in the drying cupboard. My room was just right with everything you need, a nice large bed, fluffy towels and a great shower. A great breakfast set me up for the day. I could not fault my stay.

We were so fortunate to stay with Colin and Sandra at Willance House for two nights. The house is beautiful and fascinating. Our room was so well decorated and very comfortable. Colin and Sandra thought of things that we hadn’t: “Would we like milk in the morning for coffee in our rooms?” “Would we like milk set outside our rooms for tea in the afternoon?” And then the big one: “Would you like any laundry done?” What an incredible stay. Willance House is well positioned for easy access to Richmond’s shops and restaurants and the castle. We were able to get back on the Coast to Coast walk by just going down the hill and across the river. A great deal of planning has gone into the breakfasts. The traditional items were on offer but there was also Kedgeree and Eggs Benedict. The food was beautifully prepared and presented. The stay at Willance House really renewed our spirits and our items of clean clothing. We were set on our way well able to complete our walk. Quite an amazing place to stay. Just returned from our stay at Willance House Guest House whilst attending a friends wedding locally , Really enjoyable stay really pleasantly suprised at the friendly welcome from Sandra and Colin. rooms beautifully done out and exceptionally clean, Breakfast was excellent well presented and Sandra and Colin could not do enough . we will be back Syd & Debs
