Angela Downtown Hotel

I booked this hotel since it looked more modern, had a decent location + had a pool. Wasn’t sure about what their breakfast was gonna look like but it was a 12/10 they had a lot of options & we loved it. Over all have a really good experience. All the employees were nice & really helpful. Definitely would recommend! 👌

Spent my first holiday in seven years at this hotel in Rhodes, and I am very happy with the choice I made. Booked it through Jet2 on a bed-and-breakfast package; it's a 3*, so I wasn't expecting super-duper-luxurious, and that was fine. It's a great base. The location is on a quietish one-way street with lovely buildings lining it - I caught all the springtime blooms, which was very pretty. It's near a number of local restaurants, so you're spoilt for choice when looking for good lunch and dinner options. It's five to eight minutes' walk down to that beautiful seafront, and it's also at a central point where you can walk to the magnificent harbour and Old Town in about ten minutes. The rooms are basic, but clean. The breakfast buffets are unspectacular, but widely varied and tasty, and will set you up for the day. The pool area is quite nice - the pool itself is pretty decent, and it's a good spot to catch the sun on the loungers. Only downside is that the sides of the hotel are a bit of a wind-trap, so the loungers by the ends of the pool get a fair bit of breeze. Best of all, I had great service. I suffered the misfortune of my mobile phone breaking (which, in this day and age, can cause a ton of problems), and the reception staff were nothing but friendly, helpful, and resourceful in helping me book tours or finding my way around. I plan to go back to Rhodes at some point, to see all the stuff I missed. If I'm still on a budget by that time, I will most certainly choose the Downtown Angela again.

In the heart of the city of Rhodes, walking distance from everything from shops to restaurants. Newly renovated and organised breakfast room with delicious choices to start your day with. Close to the beach and to the old town, the perfect city hotel choice.

Very clean and friendly hotel, breakfast was good, helpful staff. Good size rooms cleaned daily would recommend staying. Close to all amenities and only 9 mins from old town. Pool area is good with towels supplied for sun loungers. Small inside bar.

Nice rooms with great views - clean and plenty of space, with a hairdryer, safe and a fridge too which was a nice touch. Breakfast was of a good standard - choice from continental but also some cooked food too. Limited choice for vegetarians or vegans in terms of cooked food ie no vegetarian sausages. Overall I enjoyed my stay despite one thing which let it down (not really the fault of the hotel, more so the arrangement in place). Due to building works, the gym was out of use which we had been informed of before coming - Jet2 informed us of this and said that there would be a shuttle to take us to and from the hotel to a sister hotel about 15 minutes away. We arranged with reception easily and were taken to the sister hotel. We used the gym and arrived at the reception at the agreed time. A black van with the sister hotel logo (same as before) pulls up but the driver says ours will be along in 10 minutes. Another one comes along but people get out and the driver says the van is not for us but instead for a group going to the airport. He then contacts his supervisor and says that we have to wait half an hour to be taken back to the hotel. Really just not convenient at all - we should have been given a drink or something while we waited. I just don’t understand how you can get something like that so wrong and not even offer us compensation for it. If anyone is travelling whilst these building works are still happening I would just say it isn’t worth it. The gym wasn’t even good and it was just such a faff on.

The hotel room was infested with bugs Both of us were bitten so bad we had to get antibiotic cream The shower head was dripping with mould when we complained they took 4 days to replace shower head Love holidays who we book through done nothing to help as when you call their help line it does not recognise the selection chosen to speak with someone I tried their chat service which was total waste of time We had to book ourselves into another hotel as we could not cope with the dirt and bites I would never stay in this hotel again Love holidays will not compensate us for the horrific experience and having to pay for another hotel Think before you book with love holidays as their after sales service and help centre are a complete waste of time the do not help in anyway they put the blame to the hotel and refuse to help

Friendly staff, good location to beach and old town . plenty of nice restaurants to eat and bars , I stayed on 4th floor, room was quiet , clean with a nice little balcony, bed was comfortable I slept well at this hotel. Breakfast was ok plenty of options .

We stayed at this hotel from the 31st of August to the 7th of September… and every moment was brilliant! We stayed in a superior pool view room, however our friends in the hotel had a standard side view room which was just as spacious and clean. To start, the reception staff were kind and helpful from start to finish, my partner unfortunately fell ill half way through the holiday, and the hotel staff went over and beyond to help us get him to hospital and back from the hospital, providing him with cold drinks to help him feel better. The rooms in the hotel are simple, but clean and tidy. This did not bother us, as we were so impressed by the beds, huge super queen sized beds (5’8) wide for measurements!! And SO comfy… we slept amazing every night. The hotel is small, (which is not what other reviews have said) the hotel has 4 floors and 15 rooms on each floor, which for Rhodes, is tiny. Hence the pool is on the smaller side too. However every day no matter what time, we never struggled for a sunbed. The sunbeds are amazingly comfy, thick memory foam like fabric, you could fall asleep on!! There are free lilos, floaties, woggles, and baby floats for everyone to use which was lovely for us, we sunbathed on the lilos a lot! The breakfast was a lovely surprise, from the reviews we were sceptical, however we were surprised to find, fresh fruit, cereals, hams and salamis, cheeses and breads, your classic English breakfast bits, and even more on offer each morning. Some reviews have mentioned that the breakfast only offered “eggs and sausages” this is NOT what we experienced. The hotels is in the centre of everything. A 3min walk to the left side of the island, where you can watch the sunset. And a 8min walk to the right side of the island, where the old town, cove beaches, and harbour are. The hotel over all blew us away, for such reasonable prices we had the most relaxing and comfortable time. And we’re able to do so many activities because we were in the centre of town.
