Gennadi Grand Resort

We have just returned from a 5 night stay at the Gennadi Grand Resort and had a very lovely holiday. This was our second visit to Rhodes, previously staying in the Sheraton in Ixia 10 years ago. On arrival to Rhodes we rented a car. In other reviews people talk about how remote this hotel is like it's a surprise to them...unless someone else booked their holiday they should have done their research and realised they'd need either a rental car or to be getting on the bus alot if they wanted to explore. In our opinion renting a car is essential wherever you stay on the island as you should be getting out and seeing the beautiful villages, mountains and beaches far beyond the main tourist sites but we realise we are lucky that we drive to be able to do this. We drove to the resort, an hour from the airport on pretty much one road seeing goats on our way. We parked in the free car park and made our way inside. First thoughts were how beautiful it smelled inside and how pretty the lobby area was. We were greeted and told to take a seat and given a glass of something pink and fizzy. After being given room keys and info about meals (we stayed half board) we were taken, with our luggage, on a golf buggy to the room. In the room a few pieces of fruit, two very small wraps and a bottle of wine waited. In all honesty this is why this review is 4 stars instead of 5. We had last eaten at 12pm before our flight took off and arrived at the hotel close to midnight and the food left in the room for us wasn't sufficient. We could have ordered room service but there was an additional charge for this on top of the food cost which we thought unreasonable. The room itself is spacious with a queen bed, a mini fridge (under the sink in case you can't find it immediately!), separate rooms for shower and toilet and a balcony with comfy seats. Our tv didn't work when we turned it on the first night and were told by reception it had been noted and would be fixed the next day. We then had to make 2 more phone calls before we had tv channels. Not a huge deal as we only used the tv at night when in bed but even so.... The food at this resort is insanely good. A huge non changing selection at breakfast. Fried, scrambled and boiled eggs, greek sausages, bacon, salad, yogurts, cereals, cakes, toasted sandwiches, lovely bread and much more. Dinner was a highlight of the holiday with dessert being something we eagerly looked forward to each day. A changing menu each day we stayed. Soups, salads, hot food such as chicken, beef, moussaka, fish and then specialities carved for you such as salmon, lamb, beef, chicken etc. Greek foods could also be found which was nice to have. There was a pizza and pasta station but we didn't try these so can't comment. Desserts. O is for o wow. Seriously. Caramel mousse, pistachio and raspberry panacotta, different macaron flavours each day, the list goes on and on. we would go back to this hotel for the desserts alone. Pools were all cle

Stayed for a week at the end of April. The hotel is modern with a minimal architectural style but with all the amenities and comforts that you might need. Apart from bars, restaurants and pools the complex also includes a mini market, a rent a car agency and a jewellery shop. We had also had chosen the Ultra All Inclusive meal board which allowed us complimentary use of the indoor heated pool, the sauna and the steam room. The staff were very hospitable and the food at the a la carte restaurants was top notch! Would recommend and will definitely return! Thank you for the memories!

The hotel overall is very nice, staff are friendly and very welcoming. We were given a lovely welcome with a complimentary glass of champagne and a ride in a golf cart to our room. A very quiet hotel and very isolated. The nearest town is very small and is a 15/20 minute walk down a rocky sidewalk. A nice hotel for those who wish to lie in the sun, but for those who wish to explore it is a little too isolated. There is no atmosphere at all apart from when the two hour band plays by the main pool which is nice. We got a upgraded room which was also a nice touch, the bed was very comfy. If you're looking to come here and want things to do, a rental car is a must.

Staff are the highlight of this hotel. Nothing is too much trouble and it is always charming service with a smile from everyone. Beautifully equipped hotel with a high level of cleanliness in all areas. Food is also to a good standard and a nice choice of Greek wines to try. We will definitely be back!

Was here last year with my wife for 2 weeks and we had the best summer vacations. I will start with the filoxenia restaurant by saying that it has a vast variety of choices to pick, my wife is a picky eater and every day she was totally happy, the service staff was very friendly and especially Hrisafina the hostess. The best part for me was the theme restaurants and especially the stk cause i am a meat lover, and alex the waiter was very polite and helpful.The housekeeping was doing a great job, most of the areas were always clean and it's a big hotel so i imagine that it must be difficult. The best part of our stay on our anniversary was the edesma restaurant, it is a must try experience.

FABULOUS - nothing whatsoever not to love: staff, food, amenities, pools, small pebbly beach take plastic sandals. We're returning soon, never been to the same resort twice but this was truly exceptional in every respect.

The area The hotel itself is quite isolated, with a 10 minute walk to Gennadi along a main busy road. Not one you would want to do in the dark. We used taxis alot and they are not cheap. Gennadi was a pleasant suprise. It is a small village with local charms and several nice restaurants if you are b&b. Also very reasonable. The hotel is served by a wonderful bus service on the doorstep. Its around 40 minutes to lindos for 5 euro and worth the trip. The nicest local beach is pefki again worth the bus trip of 25 mins from the doorstep of the hotel. The hotel First impressions- What a beautiful hotel, grand and stunning! Spotlessly clean with lovely staff. There are several restaurants to choose from. The buffet restaurant is grand but sadly the food is lukewarm as others have mentioned with no change in menu and similar food every day. We preferred to eat out. The pools are spotless and lovely. The private pools are a lovely luxury but very overlooked and sadly on top of your neighbours so be prepared to get to know them well. The maid service was impeccable. Lovely smiles daily. The beach was underwhelming and is very rocky and not picturesque. Although loungers are very comfortable. I did use the spa and the massage treatment was fabulous. Although I have never visited a spa in a 5 star hotel run by a separate company that you cannot charge to the room. Improvements It would be great to have an omelette station and hot food with variety. It would be great for a shuttle to gennadi or lindos to be on offer even for a small surcharge. Sadly as it was the last week the beach was dismantled and not all services were on offer. This was not reflected in the price we paid. The hotel felt a little soulless and we wouldn't return at this time of year. Overall we are likely to return as we did really enjoy the stay!

We have just returned from this hotel it is one of the best hotels we have ever been to we usually go to adults only 5 star ⭐️ hotels n we’re a little apprehensive of this not being adult only x but even though we were there in school holidays there were not many children there x All the staff are absolutely wonderful a special shout out to pool waiter Albion who kept our drinks flowing all day n beverage director Pannos x The sunbeds are the best we have ever laid on n loads of them x We upgraded to a pool view swim up room whilst we were in the resort x well worth it x The food is excellent even in the buffet x special touch at breakfast x there was either a pianist playing the piano x or a violinist or harpist playing beautiful music There is entertainment on every night x n even at lunch time for 2 hours around the pool x amazing We will definitely be returning
