Daniella has the most beautiful home she shares with her guests. This wonderful farmhouse is up in the hills with a stunning garden to enjoy and relax in, a perfect pool for a cooling dip and wonderful views. Our room and the bed were comfortable, the bathroom was modern and a cool design, and we had a private patio. Our dinner and breakfast were delicious. This was our most lovely stay while in Italy. Thank you Daniella.

This place is so special. Daniela’s property is absolutely beautiful! The rooms are well decorated and very comfortable and clean. We had dinner there one night and the meal was the best we had while in Sicily. Daniela and Salvatore are so warm and kind. They feel like long lost family. Our only regret is not staying more than one night.

This is a beautiful, somewhat quirky, and fun place to stay. A big reason for the allure is Daniela, who rebuilt the old farmhouse into a gorgeous property in the hills overlooking the Mediterranean. It's nicely set up with a combination of antiques, private collections, and modern conveniences. Daniela and her crew will cook and look after you, or send you off to hike the hills or tour the nearby coastal towns and ruins of Agrigento. Make sure to ask for directions before you arrive. It can be a bit tricky and the roads for the last mile are not in great repair.

What a lovely stay! We were there for only one night, but wished we had several more to spend at Casa Balata. The property is beautiful! Daniela has really great taste. Our room was stylish, but extremely comfortable. The saltwater pool is a great way to wind down a day of temple gazing in nearby Agrigento.. Daniela was so welcoming and charming. She is such an interesting person to talk to. I highly recommend the seafood dinner that you can reserve. The whole experience was one of our best meals in Sicily, from the fresh ingredients from her own garden, to the great home cooking and the delicious sepia. We took a short hike through her olive farm before we left in the morning and came away thoroughly enchanted. Thank you for an amazing stay, Daniella!

I would highly recommend Casa Balata. It was a real treat to stay in such beautiful surroundings: grounds, gardens, guest rooms and the villa itself were beyond charming…..did I forget the pool, stunning!! But beyond the beauty of the place was Daniella and her “nephew” were so kind, helpful and welcoming. It was a package deal which made our Sicily trip beyond special. Thank you Daniella Ps we did contact Daniella prior to arrival to get directions. With her directions we had no problems. Susan and Blake Lindskog

Casa Balata was the best hotel my wife and I have experienced while visiting more than 20 countries on four continents over our combined 130 years. The accommodations were lovely, the food great, and the proprietor, Daniela, delightful, and informative. Don't miss it if you plan to visit the Agrigento region of Sicily.

A beautiful villa in the countryside near agrigento! It was a relaxing respite from the busy-ness of the city. Its proximity to the valley of the temples, Scalia del turchi and the beach was great! Daniella serves a beautiful breakfast and dinner is available if desired. I would highly recommend!

What a gorgeous place to stay, relax and eat. Only a half hour from the temples but a magical distance from the city. Beautiful gardens, salt water pool, lovely house and rooms, and delicious local food and wine. What’s not to love? And all home grown olive oil

Such a nice place hidden in the mountains overlooking the see at Realmonte. Just 5 minutes up a small road from the main road connecting Agrigent and Selinunte. A very nice pool in a very nice garden. Nice style furniture. Also: real sicilian food - try it and love it!
