We wanted a relaxing end to our holiday and this was perfect. Wonderful setting, fantastic room and superb food. We also had three yoga sessions which, under Elke’s guidance, were good for body and mind. Throw in a lovely pool and a couple of walks in the local area and more than happy!

Absolutely incredible place in the middle of a tea plantation, you feel out of this world. You can only hear birds and monkeys, perfect if you are looking for peace and relaxation. Elke and the team go far and beyond to make you feel at home and take really good care of you, with great food and amazing yoga and meditation sessions. So glad I came here 🤍

For the 5th time I found my way onto this beautiful, absolute blissful spot on an old tea-plantation. This little gem is so precious I would rather keep it a secret for myself! Everything meets my expectations: high standard in accomodation, guest relation, comfort, excellent food, a quiet spot to calm down, birds and naturesounds allover, Yoga in various styles and ..a charming, bright Host. Heaven on Earth!

The best hotel we stayed in out of 8 during our 3 weeks in Sri Lanka and I would recommend it to everyone who is thinking of visiting Galle. Heavenly pool and grounds, huge rooms and balconies, lovlely breakfasts, masses of space and a really gentle atmosphere throughout.

We loved being here. The house is utterly gorgeous. The swimming pool vast. The vegetation all around us mature and tropical. Prassad was a sophisticated waiter and also warm - he taught my kid how to make all sorts of animal shaped napkins. Elke is an impressive woman. An architect, she created this paradise with attention to every detail. The design on the windows, the heavy cutlery, everything screams of quality. She is also a thoughtful yoga teacher and I thoroughly enjoyed the meditation and yoga sessions overlooking the beautiful grounds. Our marble floored bedroom was beautiful and generous. The whole place whispers tranquility. We’ll definitely come again.

I was looking for a place to relax and unwind and found paradise in the midst of the jungle. Niyagama House offers the perfect mix of tranquility & luxury. Everything is perfectly blended into nature - as if it belonged there. You can easily unwind on the terrace, by the pool or walking the plantation itself. It´s stunningly beautiful. The super attentive staff is always around to cater your needs. Fresh juices, snacks, lunch or dinner all is cooked fresh and upon request. If you feel the need to jump into the Indian ocean - it´s just a fun tuktuk ride away. Elke will give you the perfect spots on where to eat, enjoy the sunset or go for a swim. It´s also the perfect spot to host you very own retreat. Next time I´ll book niyagama house for my very own Retreat on the tea plantation. Don´t miss out on this very special place.

The Niyagama House is a true gem. It’s an oasis up on a hill from Galle, surrounded by birds and a beautiful tea plantation. It has the feel of being in a villa with many lovely nooks to read or just relax. The grounds and pool are amazing, and every room is beautifully designed and maintained with Sri Lankan style furnishings and textiles. AC is provided, but my favorite thing is sleeping under the four poster canopy of a mosquito net with the doors open to the sounds of crickets and frogs with fireflies all around. Elke, the owner, and Prasad are always nearby to provide suggestions or assistance. The food is delicious and the pool is divine. Highly recommend!

Fortunately we got this place, actually this is very calm and mind relaxing place. The management and the working crew ware very friendly. I highly recommend this place. Big pool , Clean and awesome room setup , big place.

The place is beautiful! I spent my days doing yoga, swimming and walking. The service and hospitality was excellent. The food was delicious! I highly recommend for anyone looking to do a yoga retreat!
