Before touring the apartment, take in the sweeping views of Rangeley Lake and the surrounding mountains. If there's one thing this apartment isn't lacking, it's windows! Enjoy the views during the day, the sunsets in the evening, and then pull the shades & curtains for a cozy night in with board games or a movie & popcorn. Sleep comfortably on the queen bed with a dual controlled heated mattress cover for those chilly winter Maine nights. A surprisingly large closet can hold all your clothes and travel necessities. The pull up or down honeycomb shade above the bed can provide privacy while also awarding stunning views of the lake and mountains. In the living area, a fold out futon couch can also accommodate a third guest, with bed linens, pillows and comforter provided. An electric "woodstove" provides heat and ambiance with a wall mounted smart TV above for entertainment. A floor AC unit cools the apartment in the summer. The full kitchen boasts ample counter space complete with coffee bar including a dual drip/k cup coffee maker, and espresso/cappucino maker. Local ground coffee from Carrabassett Coffee Company is provided. You'll find just about everything you need for cooking in this kitchen, including a convection stovetop, large sink, microwave, fridge & freezer, as well as a dishwasher. (Kitchen does not include an oven). Off of the entry way you'll find the full bathroom with a pocket door for privacy. The matching green shower, sink, and toilet give the bathroom charm you wouldn't expect from a studio apartment. All the essentials are provided, including soap, shampoo, conditioner, towels, toilet paper and a hair dryer. In the winter, don't forget to throw your bath towel in the bucket towel warmer before stepping into the shower. When you're ready take the short 5 min walk down to the neighborhood shared lake access. In the summer swim out to the swimming dock or relax on the dock benches taking in the views. Bring a picnic or post up on one of the adirondack chairs with a cool beverage in hand. While there is no boat launch, you can easily launch from the downtown Rangeley landing and motor up to the dock for your "all aboard" call. We are only 15 minutes away from Saddleback Ski Mountain, and only 45 minute drive to world class Sugarloaf USA ski resort. Rangeley lakes area offers some of the nations best fly fishing in a number of lakes, ponds and streams all within 15 miles. The house offers a wrap around deck with ample lake and mountain views. 4 bedroom and 2 bath house, each of the three queen beds has a dual control heated mattress pad for those cold winter nights. In the main floor bathroom is the stack washer & dryer. There is a pack & play available for use.Guest accessGuests will have access to the full house minus a locked storage room. The garage is off limits to guests. For electric vehicles there is an outlet on the outside of the garage. Please let us know ahead of time if you plan to use this (there is no additional charge for this feature). Guests will have access to the gated shared association dock space, a 5min walk from the house. It is a downhill walk to the lake with an uphill walk back to the house. This is a shared space with the rest of the neighborhood, but it is generally peaceful and quiet. We often have the space to ourselves. Guests will have use of the dock, swimming dock, picnic tables, and adirondack chairs. There is a boat basin that is off limits, but if you launch a boat in the lake, you can load and unload at the dock. In the winter this space can be used for snowmobile lake access. Two adult kayaks provided for guests in season, generally Memorial Day through Columbus Day. These hang on the side of the garage, not down at the lake so that they remain private use for our guests.Guests will have access to the indoor fireplace with firewood provided as well as the outdoor propane grill, propane firepit, and wood fire chimney. Two propane tanks are provided.Other things to noteThe walk to the shared water access is all downhill from the house, so expect an uphill walk on the way back. There is no boat launch access, but the public boat launch in Rangeley can be utilized. The lake access point can also be used for lake snowmobile access in the winter. In the winter Mingo Springs golf course (just a walk up the road) is a great place to go sledding!There is a studio apartment over the detached garage up the hill that can also be rented if you are looking for additional space.
