Coral Level at Iberostar Selection Holguín

This is our first time in Cuba and our first time at an all-inclusive resort. So, we really have no point of comparison to budget whether the Coral was good or not. But here is a list of things we did and did not love: Good: - Our room was quite nice. Lots of space, big bathroom, big TV.  - A/C in the room was excellent. Always felt cool and was easy to adjust colder and warmer. - Plenty of hot water in the shower. - Comfortable bed. - Room was cleaned well each day. - All the staff at the resort are very friendly. - A fairly wide assortment of food choices.  - The resort is quiet. We never felt overwhelmed with noise or had trouble sleeping.- Everything seemed quite clean. - 2 nice beach areas in the resort. - 2 nice pools. - Decent little fitness center- 5 different themed restaurants, a buffet, and a 24-hour snack bar. - A couple of billiard tables, multiple bars, a cigar smoking room, a little dance club, a currency exchange spot, a small store for sunscreen/sandles/toiletries/etc. - There is a doctor on site (Although I can't authoritatively say if he was an actual doctor or not) Not As Good: - When we first got to the resort the entire place did not have water. But, no one told us this. We just struggled for a while trying to figure out how to use the water. - It felt difficult to figure out how everything worked. It would make sense to have some paperwork with all the resort details. But instead we had to continually ask questions and figure things out as we went.  - Each day they put bottles of filtered water and 2 beers in your fridge. We don't drink and asked if cans of soda could be provided instead. They said yes, but this did not ever occur. - The bottles of filtered water they provide has a overpowering musty taste.  - My wife got mild food poisoning from something on the 3rd day. - None of the food was really great. If you go to the buffet you will eventually find the food you like the best, but even that is just OK. The ice cream is OK, but otherwise, the desserts are very underwhelming. - I was aware going in that the food in Cuban resorts is not their best quality, but I was hoping for really good fruit. Unfortunately, this was not the case. There was fresh pineapple, papaya, and bananas, but the rest all came from a can. - The wifi is real bad. It constantly disconnects and even when it stays connected, it is dreadfully slow.  - Basketball and tennis courts are in pretty rough shape. - There are no cities or towns close to the resort. So, if you want to see other things there is a 20-60 minute drive to get anywhere.

Just got back from a wonderful vacation at Iberostar Coral Holguín. Highly recommend this resort for adults only. The rooms are beautiful and very clean. We were lucky to get a room with an outdoor shower and thoroughly enjoyed bathing in the warm sunshine and under the stars at night. A definite must try if available. The maids and mini bar staff are attentive and will bend over backwards to help make you happy. Our maid Dayne was especially friendly and made cute animals out of our bedding each day. Our butlers Yarin and Augusto checked in with us daily and took care of all our needs and requests. The wait staff are second to none and quite a few of them exceeded expectations. In the morning our favourite waitress Maria always remembered our drink orders and the fact that I liked a glass of ice on the side for my chocolate milk. She always greeted us with a smile and made the start to our day special. Janisbella and Yasmine were also phenomenal and we shared many laughs and jokes during our meals. Jacqueline at the front desk became a fast friend who always went out of her way for us with our many questions and requests. My friend and I had the pleasure of getting a massage from Jamelia and Rogerio and it was the best 90 minutes I have ever spent. We also had an absolute blast with some of the bar staff. Alexander, Julio, Hector, William and the very beautiful Dayana were super fun, attentive and personable and made great tasting drinks. Even the lifeguard (her name eludes me) was great. I had many interesting conversations with her about her competitions and training. Lovely woman! Last but certainly not least was Carlos, the entertainment coordinator. Carlos is the most genuine, kind hearted, fun loving, hard working man I have ever met. We spent many hours with Carlos each day playing volleyball, football, doing aqua fit, dancing and just having a great time. Carlos is a huge asset to Iberostar and should be commended on his dedication to providing the guests with a wonderful experience. Iberostar is a wonderful, relaxing, fun resort with exceptional staff and I highly recommend staying there!

We have been to many resorts in Cuba over the past 20+ years and we have to say that this is the best by far. The food, the friendly staff, the clean and comfortable rooms, pristine pools/beaches and the overall atmosphere of this hotel make it a place in which we will return (return trip has been booked!) The staff were ALL amazingly friendly and entertaining (Carlos). We would like to give Junior, our butler, a big "Thank You" for surprising us with an upgrade to the Presidential Suite. It was beyond fantastic! We couldn't have asked for anything more. See you all again in 2025.

Voici mes commentaires sur notre semaine au Iberostar Holguin Coral Level. Nous sommes des habitués de Cuba donc nous sommes au courant de la situation actuelle. Notre dernier voyage avant celui-ci était en décembre dernier à Holguin aussi et nous n’avions manqués de rien. Cette fois ci, ce fut différent. Les premiers jours nous n’avions pas de pain, pas d’oeufs , aucune viennoiseries, ni pizza ni dessert. Très peu de choix pour les fruits et légumes. Par contre, les employés font de leurs mieux avec ce qu’il y a de disponible. Par la suite, beaucoup mieux , pain, pizza , viennoiseries et dessert ainsi qu’une petite variété de légumes et de fruits. Il y avait aussi des crêpes ainsi que des oeufs. Pâtes fait devant vous ainsi que viandes et poisson grillées . Petit buffet à cette section mais très bien 😊. Nous avons très bien mangé. Et toujours servi avec le sourire. Cette hôtel a son propre restaurant à la carte et c’est vraiment très bien. Langouste à tous les soirs 😋 Nous avons été au restaurant Japonais à la section familiale et c’était excellent. Il y a 2 autres restaurants mais nous ne sommes pas allés. Donc côté nourriture ce fut très bien malgré tout. Je vous suggère d’apporter des collations car il y en a pas . Et je vous mentionne que cette hôtel n’ont pas d’eau en bouteille, ils vous servent de l’eau filtrée seulement dans une bouteille de vitre. Aucun mauvais goût et nous n’avons pas été malade. Vous pouvez vous apporter bouteille avec filtre . Pour ce qui est de la chambre, c’est tout simplement magnifique . Nous avions une suite junior avec douche extérieur! Propreté A1! Vue sur la piscine avec lits et chaises en quantité suffisante. Service de majordome disponible. Belle piscine, il manquait un peu de chlore les premiers jours mais par la suite c’était très bien. Il y a aussi un bar🍹. Aucune difficulté à avoir des serviettes ( changer à tous les jours) Coté animation, c’est un hôtel plutôt tranquille mais encore là tout dépend des gens qui y sont. C’est très vaste comme hôtel si vous combinez les 2 sections donc on peut marcher beaucoup et pour nous c’était super! Pour la plage, c’est vraiment très bien. Petite baie parfaite pour les enfants et vous avez accès à la plage de Pesquero qui est superbe !! Toujours possible de prendre une petite voiturette si vous ne voulez pas marcher. Par contre il y a beaucoup de gens sur cette plage. ( moins de tranquillité) et certains se pensent seuls au monde mais ça , ce n’est pas la faute de l’hôtel. Nous sommes allés manger dans un petit resto à l’extérieur de l’hôtel et c’était délicieux 😋 Ce petit resto est ouvert depuis 2 mois seulement, excellent service et les gens sont très gentils Paraiso Melilla Holguin Essayez le vous allez adorer 🫶🏻 Je termine en vous disant que le personnel de l’hôtel est extraordinaire et ils feront tout pour rendre votre séjour agréable. Mention spéciale à Maria Del Carmen au buffet ainsi que son équipe, ils sont vraiment très sympath

Carlos worked hard to provide lots of poolside activities and entertainment.The hotel staff provided very good service . They accommodated any of our requests. The restaurant’s service was excellent and looked forward to our morning omelette

AWESOME pool. Clean rooms - very nice (we had a junior suite) Food good. No bread or eggs a few days but lots of other foods to eat. Our stay was made especially enjoyable by the friendly staff everywhere- restaurants, bars, cleaners & waiters. Special shout out to Carlos at the pool - he went above & beyond to ensure we were having a great time - he has such an upbeat, can do attitude!

All staff were amazing!This hotel was wonderful! Carlos was always interacting with people and great with activities and excitement around the pool..also a wonderful singer and guitar player. The maids and butlers were so curtious and the both beaches were beautiful..we will be back!

This was first time in a Cuba resort, I really liked the pool side beside our hotel room, the 2 beaches they had here were very amazing and beautiful, the restaurants here were amazing and the entertainment and the service was outstanding, Carlos helps with the adults on the Coral side to keep them active with a bunch of activities, the maids keep the room very clean with all the resort aswell with all in all just a beautiful resort with all joyful people and an amazing experience.

First time to this resort. We traveled with friends that had traveled to the Coral previously. This was absolutely my wifes and I best getaway trip every. The staff here was fantastic. Carlos, Alex, Dayna, William,Sergey just to name a few. I would return to this resort in a flash just because of the staff. The room we stayed in was perfect, the food ( while it lacked some traditional things) was still decent. You will not starve. I cannot see a world in which we do not return to this resort next year. That would be the first time I can honestly say that I would return to a resort for a second time.
