We spent our kitesurfing holidays there - for sleeping only it‘s good but if you like to have a good or at least average breakfast you better do not choose Ouril Hotel Agueda. After buying our own things, they also placed a bit more to offer. No vegetables, one jam (which nobody really ate), one sort of cheese and one sort of sausage. Bit of fruits and one kind of a juice. The stuff is mostly friendly. Only a few are speaking english. Otherwise it‘s good located. 10min by walk on the beach to reach Morabeza Beach Bar/ Kite Station. At night you can listen to the sounds of the waves, hitting the beach. The room has been clean and looking nice. If you want, they will clean up your room everyday - otherwise put a note outside and they will leave it. So Boa Vista for sure again - but Ouril Hotel probably not.

There is a really mixed bag of reviews. So I wanted to leave a fair but honest review. We are a couple and we stayed for 10nights. We were in Block 5. We had a great room location, an amazing balcony. We were right in the middle and a short walk to all restaurants and the main pool. We had everything we wanted really close by. The rooms are clean and tidy, the housekeeping does a fabulous job. Our bed was always made with lovely decorations on them. We had clean towels everyday and the bed was comfortable. We could not have asked for anymore from our room. The AC is brilliant and a few good English channels on the TV. The Toilet, unfortunately we were told the hotel turns the toilets off at night so they do smell of stale water/sewage. You do have to keep the toilet door closed if you don’t want the room to smell. It’s worse when you flush it. The food is amazing, such a good selection. It’s varies each night and we didn’t ever struggle to find something to eat. The hotel chefs do a brilliant job of making sure there is always plenty of choice. The pool is dated in places but it is still large and you can use it with no issues. There are rust marks in places and dark spots on the pool. This doesn’t affect the pool or anyone using it. It does get warm in the afternoon like a bath from the heat. There are always loads of sun beds, you can go down at 9am and still have a very good choice which is nice. We really like the pool and enjoyed relaxing around it. The staff in the pool bar are amazing, Balde and Christian work very hard and they can’t ever do enough for you. They are friendly and always happy. We took cups with us to keep our drinks cool and the bar staff are happy to fill these up for you so you don’t have to keep going back to the bar. The entertainment was not to our taste, the staff do work very hard to put on a good show but they have it so loud it just sounds like noise because the area is so large. However they did have some good ideas and there were people who enjoyed this. They do a section for the kids earlier in the evening and that was nice to see. There is more than enough seating for everyone on the evening to watch the entertainment or play cars etc. Overall we had a lovely 10 day break, the hotel could do with a bit of a makeover and uplift however all the staff look after the hotel extremely well. I have to say the staff make this hotel. They are all so lovely and friendly. They can’t do enough for you. We might be back 😊
