While the hotel boasts a range of facilities and enjoys a favourable location, there are areas that require attention. The cleanliness standards are average, and some of the bathroom fittings are damaged, contributing to a water drainage issue. Notably, water tends to flow onto the bathroom floor when flushing the bathtub. And we had to wait almost 2 hrs to get the cleaning services to arrive.
I’m detailing this review since no one at the hotel cared when I spoke to them. I’m a Marriott elite gold member, I had booked a Mountain View room and as a gold member I’m eligible for upgrades. I got to the hotel and asked them if they could upgrade me to a balcony Mountain View room. They told me all the junior suites are full, I clearly told them I do not want a junior suite and I want the next category up which was available (the Mountain View balcony) anyways they told me I had to pay for it, so I did although it wasn’t what I wanted cause it had double beds and I asked for a king bed(which they told me was not available) and I double checked with them saying “it’s Mountain View?” They were like all our rooms are Mountain View (false!!). I payed extra for the balcony “Mountain View” room only to enter my room and see that my view was of the hotel itself from within and was not a Mountain View room. I went back to the reception and told them this and they literally just laughed and said this is the only room we have left with a balcony which was a blatant LIE because I asked for the manager who immediately gave me a king bed Mountain View balcony room. Saying I’m a gold elite Marriott member is because if that’s what I am and I got treated this way, then how do others who are not part of the Marriott membership get treated?. Housekeeping at the hotel is really bad, I came into the room the tissue box was empty, parts of the shower have not been cleaned there were stuff stuck on the wall… I could go on about housekeeping but whenever I asked for something to get done the sweet lady from housekeeping at the turnover night shift would help. The spa cancelled one of our bookings without letting us know and changed the timing of our other booking. There’s a restaurant called scalini located on the -1 level of the hotel. I could not find their number online to make a booking and when I called the guest services to ask for the restaurant’s number they said they don’t have it. I’m pretty sure for guest’s convenience someone could get in an elevator from floor 1 to -1 and ask the restaurant for their number so that if a guest asks for it, it’s THERE! Unbelievable bad service.. Also, a side tip since this is a tourist destination, maybe just maybe have more English speaking people as it’s a universal language and this is an international hotel chain! It’s very disappointing for me to write this because the hotel is beautiful and its amenities are really good it’s just the service makes you want to leave: which is what I did.
Had booked 2 rooms for a family vacation. Had a horrible check-in experience that ruined the entire holiday. Was allotted a room outside the elevator, and we requested to change it. This simple request would have been executed by any 5 star hotel swiftly within minutes. We had to go back & forth over 2.5 hours with no luck. The staff kept arguing about not informing them before checking in instead of finding a solution. Totally unprofessional in handling customer concerns. Our second room was given 1 hour late, and the hotel didn't take any responsibility. The hotel doesn't believe in customer centricity. It is rated as a 5 star but with 2 star attitude & experience. Guest are at their mercy. Staff is inhospitable and inflexible. Service is very poor. Request to talk to the GM was also denied. The guest relations manager said she didn't have GM's email id. Have never come across a hotel where staff does not have GM's email. It's such a shame that staff is resorting to such tactics to deal with guests. The resolution offered was that we will refund your money for 2 nights. The hotel is in middle of no where and they expected us to find hotel room instead of finding us a solution. We travelled all the way from Dubai for this vacation, and everyone was so disappointed. Please avoid.
