Apartamentos Halley

My husband and two sons stayed here for one week sept 27th - October 4th. We as a family have all stayed here in the past, this was their 4th time back to Halley and wow how much this place has gone downhill is an understatement. I wish you could take all review stars away. From day one it was hell with cockroaches, they were coming out of the drainage which was broken in the bathroom, everyday was spent killing them. They also had a mouse in the apartment on day 6, a lovely guy that unfortunately lived in one of the apartments stated he had killed mice himself. There was never nobody on reception to report this to! The guy on reception was there only once during the whole stay. The pool was disgusting, it hadn’t been cleaned and when a guy checked the PH levels they were below standards! Dave the owner used to be at the pool testing and cleaning everyday when we previously visited, him and Gail were nowhere to be seen so presuming it’s been sold on and that’s why it’s gone downhill so much. My husband and sons couldn’t use the pool by day 6 and it was scorching heat with no escape because rooms have no aircon and the bathroom was infested with cockroaches. This has really disappointed me as we’ve had lots of lovely stays here since 2019. We will never ever be returning!!

Cleaning not exceptional, room cleaned only 2 times in 13 days. Quite close to the sea and some supermarkets. Nothing special, acceptable.

The apartments are very very basic! On one occasion there was cigarette stubs in the pool. There are absolutely no facilities on site!

The place is very run down all the apartments our family stayed in were in need of work and not very clean. The swimming pool had cigarette stubs in on one occasion although they were dealt with it didn’t make you want to use it! I certainly wouldn’t use them again!

Worst place we have ever stayed. Went to these apartments for family holiday . 6 apartments between family members and although none were great ours was the worst. NUMBER 15 Ants everywhere sockets hanging off walls , the building must be subsiding as the wall was buckled and cracked with the plaster falling off. Under the sink the stench of stagnant water was unbelievable. Towels changed only once in a week. Kitchen blind would not go up so in darkness all day. The pool area was in dyer need of repair. Yet a couple of doors from number 15 the apartment looked fabulous. Outside light broke bathroom light broke. Shower was a joke turned it on and water went everywhere. MY ADVICE DONT STAY PAY THAT LITTLE EXTRA FOR SOMEWHERE ELSE THE OWNERS JUST DONT SEEM TO CARE

Pool area lovely, great views, spacious, clean, large balcony. Comfortable bed, value for money.

Far too expensive as to service. Cleaning x3/week; floors should be cleaned with wet mop. Only toilet was wet mopped, but not living area and bedroom. So much powdery sand in air; cannot avoid it entering apartment. Stayed 2 weeks. Owner couldn’t be reached either by phone, text msg or email and staff was not authorised to solve Wi-Fi problem without his permission. He didn’t reply even own staff! Very weird and poor service. Wi-Fi was not working - mostly off-line all the time. Old routers removed, not replaced by new ones. Each room needs own router for good Wi-Fi. I had to use expensive mobile data to check emails etc. Had no choice but contact TUI travel agency. They were very helpful and tried to contact owner multiple times: no reply! The first time ever I had to turn to travel agency for help. Nowadays, every hotel should be able to offer quick Wi-Fi. It’s important to receive messages from travel agency in case of changes in schedules.The day before departure a man from telephone company came to check Internet. He said they had done improvements for connection and it worked for a while, but then same problem occurred. Wi-Fi was off almost all day. Reception was supposed to be open every day from 9-17, but was closed every Friday. This should read in opening hours. It’s a pity; such a lovely location, but not meeting expectations and therefore far too expensive. Owner has no interest in guests, this left very poor impression.

Just back from an 11 night stay at the Halley Apartments and we had a fabulous time there. The apartment was a really good size, very clean and with everything you needed for self catering and the view from the balcony/terrace was second to none - you don't very often get a pool view and sea view while sitting on your terrace!! I should also comment on the quality of the mattress in our apartment, probably the best nights sleep we have had on any holiday!! The pool area was very well kept with ample sunbeds and parasols available - no need for rushing downstairs in the morning to try and reserve sunbeds. Gail and Dave were lovely when we met them when we checked in on our first morning there although they went on their own (well deserved) holiday later that day so we didn't really get the chance to get to know them that well. It was a short walk to local restaurants and "Durty Nellies" bar (which was a much needed stop off point on the way back up the hill) and it didn't take too much effort to wander further down to the "town" to other bars/restaurants and if you didn't fancy the walk back up then a taxi (and there were plenty of them) was around 3.5 euro. All in all we had a great time staying at the Halley and wouldn't hesitate to recommend staying there. Keith & Deb

Myself and my wife stayed here a few weeks ago, We had a nice break ! couple managing resort were very nice and obliging they even drove us into town to get the bus on departure. Room was a little dated but did the job nicely. Perfect for a nice quite holiday and a 15 minute walk to the main town and some nice restaurants and supermarket only 5 minutes walk away. I would go back to this pleasant, quite resort with fantastic views of the town from the room.
