Apartamentos Grupotel Cinco Plazas

Currently staying here and it’s a nice place but the attitude of the staff is such a let down.. we are a family with 3 children and the reserving of sunbeds situation is just insane. For 2 days in a row now we haven’t been able to secure a place by the pool due to other selfish grown adults ‘reserving’ sunbeds by 10pm the previous night, leaving our children and ourselves disappointed. I brought this to the attention of the staff twice now and they just say “nothing we can do, it’s a problem, people don’t listen to rules”. The staff chain the sunbeds together in the evening to prevent this happening but some are left unchained and even the ones that are chained get broken, it’s crazy! The same goes for the umbrellas. They also get ‘reserved’. So unless we stoop to their level and physically break chains off sunbeds tied together the day before in order to guarantee a place by the pool and some shade for our children then we won’t be getting one. Call it sad but this morning I counted 79 sunbeds around the pool, all ‘reserved’ with towels and only 3 were occupied. We have paid the same as everyone else to be here but unfortunately some people feel a sense of entitlement and have zero shame. The staff could not be any less bothered about this and it’s such a shame as it’s a nice property but be aware if coming here that you may not be able to relax poolside unless you’re happy laying on the ground looking around at empty sunbeds with towels. AVOID !

Apartment was spotless and well equipped. Lovely walk in shower. Cleanest wardrobes i have ever seen on holiday. I had requested a room on the ground floor which i got (requested via email to them) only there were 3 big steps down to it and they refused to move me, which is why i did not give 5 stars. Also sunbeds, wow they are taken up early hours of the morning loads of people giving off to rep who can do nothing. Speak to the lifeguards who are amazing. Ivan was so helpful to me and so nice. I dont know the name of the other one is like the pied piper for the kids and so funny. He has a pen sticking out the front of his afro can't miss him. There are bali beds to rent at €30 a day and well worth it for me. It is on a hill and it €2.50ish in a taxi to the ***** again well worth it. Supermarket on site and a hyper dino next door. The one at the bottom of the hill on left with a cafe is better value. All in all i would go back, but only with a guarantee of a room with no steps.

The apaerment was filthy , our food was contaminated with ants , every morning we work up to bugs in the apartment . I had to spray insect repellent on the beds at night to stop getting bit . I got bitten on the face where the rim of my glasses sat, which left it uncomfortable until i could get treatment for it . I requested numerous times to be moved to be told no, we will get your apartment cleaned .Let me add that the apartment was not cleaned , I had to clean it myself . The mop, which was left in the apartment was filthy , I had to get bleech to clean the mop before i cleaned the apartment. We could not unpack the suitcases as the place was so dirty and infested . When i mentioned the food being contaminated with ants, I was told i should keep my foid in the fridge . The man on reception was so rude and unhelpfull as was the tui rep . This experience totally ruined our holiday I will go back to Lanzarote. I'm definitely not back to this place

My wife and I have stayed in The Cinco Plazas many times over the past 10 years, and always found the staff very welcoming, the accommodation is great value for money and always nice and clean. It is also located nice and central to all the great restaurants up and down the *****.

Don't be fooled by the pictures of Cinco Plazas, it is a tired, run down, poorly maintained resort with unhelpful reception staff who shrug their shoulders as a means to addressing complaints. Dangerous light switch fittings, broken microwave and tv, wardrobe doors hanging off their rails, no plugs in the sinks, kettle flex having to be bent around a corner or placed on the floor. Honestly, avoid this place. It claims awards though these are proudly displayed in reception from the early 2000's. It appears nothing has been done to the place since. Truly one of the worst places we have stayed in years. Asked to move and were offered a downgrade, what must that have been like??!!

Firstly the staff and cleaners were very friendly and helpful . The room was cleaned every 2nd day with the towels changed as well . The room was very nice too can't fault it . The location of the hotel was perfect and hyper dino supermarket on your doorstep. We were given a room by the first pool on the ground floor as you come through reception ,3110 was the room number. With a 3 and 1 year old this was not ideal . Which I explained to reception that the age of kids was known prior to arrival and was met with no satisfaction . Once in the apartment you could open the door easily and within 10 feet your standing over a 1.5 meter swimming pool . As early 0830 some mornings the sun lounger wars would begin . Pushing towels through the gaps in the stacks of beds ,sitting on stacks marking territory like animals and dumping towels on the floor before the shackles came off the stacks . It was a nightmare being honest and the laughable part was from 0830 to finish time the towel remained on the bed but an owner absolutely no where to be seen . Our apartment was so close to pool area that rubbish would be blown onto our terrace as some people are unable to pick up after themselves. After our 5th day when I witnessed adults drinking in the baby pool and pumping music like a hotel from magaluf we spent the rest of our holiday at the 2nd pool . Which was a lot more relaxing as a holiday should be and a lot more peaceful. I could only imagine the carry on in peak season. Management need to put a better system in place .

We think 3 stars is more than fair, the rooms are pretty clean to be honest. It's a great family environment, very loud by the main pool area as you would expect from this type of hotel. Absolutely manic with regards to the sun loungers in the morning, people putting them out and maybe not returning for hours after, to use them, it was a bit like a cattle mart in the mornings, we preferred to stay by the splash park which was definitely more peaceful. Our main issue with the place was the constant smell of ****, morning through until night, we couldn't believe it to be honest. We've stayed here before but I definitely think this is our last time.

Well firstly I know it’s only two stars and we only stayed a few days flying over from Gran Canaria to visit friends here . BUT when we got to the room there was blood on the sheets and a strange make on bathroom door ( discovered later it was varnish so no issue ) we also came home one evening to discover cockroaches in your room … had to clean the whole room ourselves to ensure nothing was around to attract more …. For us that’s not even the worse thing about this hotel …. Hotels should be about hospitality and warmth and customer service … there seems to be a person on reception called JUAN he must be the rudest person I have ever met in working in a hotel , he was so rude and impolite it was u real and for this main reason we would never ever visit again and would tell people to avoid

Stayed here for 3 weeks as a family of 5 Rooms ok a bit dated and cockroaches on a couple of nights in our room Cleaners lovely, can't fault cleaning at all in minimum every other day and really helpful with cockroach problem Sunbed wars really hit and miss Some days beds still available at 10/11 other days none left at 930 Reception staff most of them are nice and helpful Unfortunately 1 arrogant rude man named David he is the biggest let down to the hotel I've never met someone so rude in my life Simple question asked and he responds in a shouting bullying manner Horrible human being Absolutely will never stay here again whilst he still works here biggest let down ever! Management need to have a chat with him about customer care
