Nautilus Lanzarote

Firstly the positives. The complex is in a very quiet location, is well laid out with the pool area and gardens being spotlessly clean. The staff are friendly and helpful and access for the disabled is very well thought out. However, in my opinion the apartments do let this complex down with them in need of upgrading. For example, the shower tray in our accommodation had two quite large cracks in it, the fridge and the microwave were both rusty and well beyond their "sell by" date and although overall the apartment was quite spacious, the kitchen was extremely small with no where to drain your dishes except on a tray on top of the cooker!! This is a shame because if the apartments were updated it would deserve it's 4 star status.

Lovely apartment, English TV channels, large flat screen tv, no oven, no washing machine, your own outdoor space, with sun loungers and table & chairs overlooking the rather cold swimming pool! The worst thing was the most uncomfortable settee I have ever encountered, we tried putting the duvets from the 2nd bedroom on it, but still rock solid! There is no bar/restaurant or shop they do serve a breakfast if wanted as an extra, We enjoyed it, but should imagine some would call it rather boring! A 10 minute walk would take you to the sea or the commercial centre, but, believe me that is a long walk with bags of shopping and large bottles of water! To sum up, we enjoyed it, 2 weeks was a bit too much, we had tried all the restaurants and bars, 10 days next time, me thinks.

This hotel is very good for disabled people although some rooms are on the top level we had mobility scooter and there are slopes to all rooms , the room had walk in shower and was very well appointed for disability the kitchen had all you need including a big fridge /freezer large living room but the settee is like sitting on a rock very very uncomfortable ok if you're only there for short stay but we where there for 6 weeks I had to bring in the sunlounger inside with the lounger mattress on , the rooms where kept spotlessly clean by Raquel who must be the best and loveliest cleaner in spain thank you Raquel x this apartment complex is very near the shops bars etc and the promenade a short walk gets you to more shops and restaurants the best Chinese restaurant the great Wall ,fantastic and the special menu is fantastic value for money

Excellent accommodation close to centre of Matagorda. Very spacious and well equipped apartment which was fully disability friendly, as was the whole complex which was lovely to see. Very peaceful setting in lovely landscaped gardens dotted with artworks.

Really enjoyed our week. Lovely staff lovely place. Convenient for the seafront promenade, local shops and restaurants. Easy transfers to and from the airport. Would definitely go back again next year.

We have stayed here many times over past 20 yrs. Our recent visit was first since Nov 2019. The high standards of maintenance for the complex are maintained though all the staff seemed to be different from receptionists to gardeners. I note there are less flowering shrubs and they are being replaced by cacti. There seems less for children? is the play equipment gone? the mini golf is still there tho moved and also the snooker table. There now seems a lifeguard on duty by the pool area. As for our unit, there is now an airconditioning in the living room of the unit but only available at a daily cost of 8.50 euro which I think excessive. But given the windy conditions prevailing most days, it was not needed. There is a fan in the bedroom and three windows can be opened. Formerly cushions for the patio loungers were extra but now provided. The supermarket in the basement seems permanently closed and I could not see the laundry area that used to be there. Lots of impressive artwork to admire in the basement! The only food provided now is breakfast for those with that option. There used to be a lunch and evening meal, so a few changes down the years. I think the unit could do with an upgrade of kitchen fittings. The kettle was showing its age so I asked for a new one. The replacement was another 'old' one with a dodgy lid. I asked for mugs and better wine glasses which I got but no teapot. The kitchen is particularly tight on space and a redesign might help. Being short, I found the kitchen storage and wardrobe space hard to access. Generally storage of small items was an issue, a few hooks or a shelf in the bedroom would have helped. The beds are comfortable and decent bedlinen is a plus over previous years. There is no information pack provided. There used to be a detailed inventory of contents to be checked on arrival. Phone numbers and information on check out, the safe, the air conditioning, the TV, taxis etc would be nice. Water is available to purchase at the reception at cost of 3 euro for 5 litres.

Day 2 of our 10 day holiday. Can't quite get over how good this place is. So quiet, on checking in we were given an upgrade as the complex was quiet. Huge 2 bed apartment with wet room bathroom and second bathroom beside entrance. Lydia our room attendant is lovely, friendly and rooms immaculate. Patio has table, chairs, parasol and 2 loungers with pads and pillow. Trying area out of back door with line and pegs. Fantastic find if looking for quiet holiday

This apartment complex is stunning. Perfect for people with mobility problems. The staff are very helpful and friendly. The cleanliness is impeccable. The pool is a perfect temperature. Plenty of places to eat out and shop nearby. I would highly recommend these apartments and shall definitely be making a return visit. 10/10

I am interested in birds and saw African collared doves (very confident) and Spanish Sparrows and the apartment complex. The was Cattle Egret, Berthelot's Pipits and Rose Ringed Parakeets in the art park between Nautilus and the beach (which is an easy 5 minute walk). In the other direction, walking inland is an area of rock strewn waste land. I saw both Great Grey and Woodchat shrikes and Trumpeter Finches here. Down on the beach I got Whimberel, Ringed Plover, Sanderling and a Turnstone. Arrival was smooth but not sure the transfers from the airport were worth it, the taxi would have been €10 and would have got us there 20 minutes quicker. The complex was lovely, quiet and clean. The art was very interesting and unusual too. The pool was clean and again nicely quiet. The weather was lovely considering it was February. 26°C most days and not too windy. Really good trip.
